@Tornado--She won't try green, but she will eat an entire can of black in one sitting. We fight over them, which is exactly why I taught her the finger/olive trick. Slows down her consumption.
We just mastered that skill around here :-) The phrase "more olives" is quickly surpassing "more cheese" in frequency. We fight over both of those, so she needs to find something less appetizing to go after ;-)
I totally did that as a kid. And grammy would let me eat an entire can, juice and all. I thought I was the only kid out there who would do that. Weird.

Now, make those green olives and have some vodka standing by and that's MY GIRL!
But does she EAT them?
Many kids like the black vs. the green. I prefer the green
Mmmm...olives!
@AndreAnna--I'll work on that. ;-)

That's interesting she likes the black ones. My kid hates the black and wears the green ones like rings after chewing the bottom part off.
We loves them at this house. Very tasty on pizza, no?
My kids all did that, which amazed me, since I detest olives. They'll still come home from school and pop open a can of olives for a snack! EW!
Whoa, deja vu - I have an identical picture of my kiddo with olive fingers!
My cousins kids all learned to count by eating olives off their fingers. 1 olive o, 2 olive o, 3 olive o...
To the great mortification of my teenager, I STILL do that with my olives. :)
Mine all did that with cheezels. We weren't olive eaters back then, but that oversight has been remedied.
LOL! love it.
Is your header picture from the Children's Museum? I went there as a little girl and was fascinated by the trains. Ahhhh....memories.
Yess! Congrats to Alexis. This is a monumental moment in her life.
Shhhh! Quick, hide the photo! Stella hasn't tried this yet - not with olives at least. She has done it with tortellini, though.
Good job Alexis, olives are less messy than tortellini :-)
Too cute! Skye was always one of those kids that didn't want to get her fingers dirty. She would go through an entire can if I let her. (Hugs)Indigo
@Mandy--The photo is from the Science Center. Good times, to be sure!
That picture warms a girl's heart. (And makes her feel a little better about teaching her own kid to do the same thing...)
Hehe that's cute! Wish my kids would eat them

Yes! Thank you! All children should learn this skill. My mom has a picture of my sister doing this when we were kids.
Well, yeah! If you can't do this, then forget typing, writing, and all other fine motor actions. ;)
I love the focus on her fingers and blurred background. Great shot!
LOVE it!
That is talent, and way too cute for words. :)
well-done, alexis!
I am pretty sure in the secret world of toddlers there is some kind of rule that they must do that to move on to preschool. LOL
Awesome pic. I love it!
