Well, That Was Brilliant
Sometimes I have an idea that I think is nothing short of brilliant. I wallow in my own glory, praising myself for my superior intelligence, and then the truth comes out. That which I thought was so brilliant was actually a really, really, really bad idea.
Like, teaching the kid how to roll and unroll the windows in the car.
That was dumb.
Very dumb.
She's having a blast these days, but I could really do without the up down up down up down up down up down up down up down that is going on. Even when we're on the highway.
Whoops.

I hate that my kids can roll down the windows. And "forget" to roll them back up again. Aargh.
Doesn't the devil car have a window lockout feature? My new Vibe does, but it's weird - when I do the window lockout, it locks out even the master control! I never knew of any other car that locked out even the drivers' controls...
I have a child lock on my windows, but julia has a need to "push a button" all the damn time so our windows have been locked for months in the car. She has a 6th sense about when we dare to unlock them too. Kids!
The only thing worse than a window going up and down and up and down and up and down endlessly is having all the windows up and a kid screaming her head off because you dared to touch the lock that prevents all the windows from being rolled down. There's something about the tight confines of the devil car that makes me prefer to travel without angry shrieking in the back seat.
I told my hubby he would be...ahem...lonely if he taught the child how to roll down the windows or lock the doors.
Jon always wigs out when our kids do that tells them it will break the car. It doesn't work. They still do it, the stinkers.
Those shots of your shortie are AWESOME by the way!
Our windows actually wind. (Are you even old enough to remember those?) Micah can somehow manage to wind those down, but never up. That was all kinds of fun back in, well last week when it was kind of snowy. And Sam wonders why I drive the van everywhere.
At least you got some good photos of it though! :-)
I know it's annoying, but this is one of my fondest memories of our Oldest Boy! The very first time this happened was in my DH's new VW Jetta and he laughed his butt off for the entire hour-long ride home from the dentist! It makes me crack up every time I think of it! (I should note that the Space Shuttle - our minivan - doesn't have windows that roll down in the back which is why it was such a novelty to him. And? He can't do it to me in "my" vehicle - only my DH. HEHE!)
The Howler discovered that little trick for herself. And dammit! The Olds van windows didn't do that, so it wasn't an issue...but now, since the Olds' demise, it's a constant "too much air" or "not any air". And the sunroof? Yeah, that's "too much air" all.the.time. so I can only enjoy it when she's not with me.
Too funny!
What a cutie! I still have roll-down windows, and Pufferfish can't even reach them from her carseat... but she did figure out how to lock and unlock her door, causing me lots of nervousness!
I am picturing your face when the window goes down and your hair blows across your face.
Speaking of hair, hers is getting long! She has hair!!
oops ;)
My oldest is a window rolling down freak right now! Thankfully, I have a lock up near me...
That is hilarious! She looks like she is soooo enjoying it.
