burghbaby in Everywhere There are Signs

Alexis is doing a great job learning American Sign Language. She consistently signs cheese, grapes, eat, dog, cat, more, cookie, cracker, train, Mommy, thirsty, and I even got a please out of her earlier today. Then there are times that we know she is signing, but can't figure out what she's trying to say. It's usually because she has invented her own variation for the sign. But her variation for "Daddy" is definately the best. To sign Daddy, you hold your hand flat (like you have all 5 fingers out) then tap your thumb against your forehead twice. Alexis holds her hand flat then SMACKS herself in the head with her palm over and over. We know for a fact that in her mind she's signing Daddy because she yells "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy" the whole time she's beating herself.
