I'm calling it--our genius daughter has learned how to read. Every night she and I read the same two stories. Usually I read the books all the way through, then she "reads" them to me. Here's how "Moo, Baa, La La La!" went tonight:
I read:
A cow says MOO.
A sheep says BAA.
Three singing pigs say LA LA LA!
"No, no!" you say "that isn't right. The pigs say OINK all day and night."
Rhinoceroses SNORT and SNUFF
and little dogs go RUFF RUFF RUFF!
Some other dogs go BOW WOW WOW!
And cats and kittens say MEOW!
QUACK! says the duck.
A horse says NEIGH.
(It's quiet now. What do you say?)
Alexis read:
MOO.
LA LA LA!
No, no.
RUFF, RUFF, RUFF!
Kitty.
Duck.
Duck.
Exactly the same! Right? Obviously, she's a girl genius. And we read Sandra Boynton books way too much.
Girl genius has also been working on convincing one of the prisoner's to try to make a break for it. Since Powder didn't remember to tattoo an escape plan on himself before he was incarcerated, he has been relegated to hiding in the dungeon (aka the basement).
