It's no secret that Max is my most favorite cat of all time. I've frequently said that if I could guarantee his personality in a cat, I'd have ten of them. I just plain adore the little fuzzball, even if he does have a habit of tearing my Halloween decorations down faster than I can put them up. He's a sweet little guy who cuddles at the right times, is completely fearless, and generally just has the best personality possible.

The only problem is that Max has been cheating on me.

He figured out how to climb the ladder up to Alexis' loft. So now, instead of sleeping with me every night, he has taken to sleeping with her. Which, WTH? How can she possibly be more fun to sleep with than me? HOW?

Further adding to my confusion as to how the little fuzzball could possibly want to spend more time with Alexis than with me is the fact that the kid doesn't leave him alone. Ever. If she's awake and at home, she's probably stalking him. She pets him and plays with him and it's all very sweet, I suppose.

I mean, I guess cats might like it when kids read books to them. Or something.

Or maybe he's being forced to put up with the reading session. That's also a possibility.

OK. Definitely forced.

So WHY is he cheating on me with the kid? I'd never pin him down and make him listen to me read a stupid book about cats.

Not. Fair.
