It's just a few toys, but really it's so much more. It's a group of people coming together to do something to break the cycle of violence. That's a conversation I had with some of the Center for Victims staff as we were dropping off FOUR CAR LOADS of toys. Someone in an abusive relationship may end up going back because of the need for financial support. Christmas adds a lot of pressure and it's not uncommon that a woman who has left her abuser will go back for the simple reason that she doesn't want her kids to go without for Christmas.

Thank you for helping to make Christmas Crazy 2019 a success. Every year I think this whole thing is going to be a giant fail and every year I am genuinely surprised when we somehow pull it together. This year's total was $7,606. While we did not reach our $10,000 goal, it's nothing to scoff at.
From tablets to dolls and LEGOS to art supplies, hundreds of kids are going to wake up Christmas morning to something.
Ducky and Bunny have already had a few Mila hugs (because obviously), but now they're going to a new home where they will be loved for years.
Books and headphones will offer an escape even as a laptop, AN ACTUAL LAPTOP, will change a kid's life.
Good job, internet. I can't wait to see what you do in 2020.
