It's time.
At this very moment, there is a little boy sleeping soundly in a strange bed. He is safe, perhaps for the first time in his short life. He has seen unimaginable things, but the future provides hope. It shows promise of a life free of violence.
Center for Victims exists to provide hope. They give people the tools they need to recover from violence. Those tools include shelter, counseling, and help formulating a plan. Most importantly, Center for Victims provides a turning point.
It's time. Let's help them.
For the past five years, the readers of this site have come together to conjure up magic just in time for Christmas. You've made it possible for hundreds of kids to wake up Christmas morning to the joyfulness that is a special gift. Hundreds of kids know the kindness of strangers thanks to the over $30,000 you have contributed in the form of toys.
It's time to do it again.
This year we will be taking care of Christmas for the kids who receive services from Center for Victims again. If we manage to cover their needs, we'll help another agency. First, though, we have work to do. There are three ways to contribute to the magic:
1. Money is always good. you can use the button below to throw a little cash in the bucket. No donation is too small.
2. There is an Amazon Wishlist just waiting for you to pick out a thing or two. I will be continuing to add to the Wishlist, so if you don't see the exact right thing just yet, it might be there tomorrow. Or the next day.
3. If you're local, you can drop off your donation at Anchor & Anvil Coffee Bar at 7221 Church Road in Ben Avon. Anchor & Anvil is that perfect little locally owned coffee shop that turns a cup of coffee into an art form. There's a box tucked inside the cozy gathering place, so stop by, throw a few toys into the pile, and grab a fantastic cup of joe. While you're at it, say "hi" to the owner, Andy, and thank him for being awesome.
I'll be dropping off the giant pile of toys and such at Center for Victims the week of December 8th, so put your personal stamp on this fantastic little endeavor as soon as possible.
Let's see if we can top 2013's pile, shall we?
