She taught her baby sister how to swing all by herself.

Mila loves to swing way more than is probably healthy. She'll swing and swing and swing for hours and hours which SUCKED FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS. Look, I'm not one of those parents who finds pure glee in pushing a child on a swing for hours. It's fun for about 10-15 minutes as far as I'm concerned and then you should just hand me a few toothpicks and let me gouge my eyes out. That would be way more fun.
That means that I have gone out of my way to avoid playgrounds with swings during Mila's short life. Judge me all you want, but sometimes I just can't do it. I'll go down the slide with her 4000 times JUST DON'T MAKE ME PUSH YOU ON A SIWNG, CHILD.
Like I said, judge away. It's not like I've NEVER taken her to swing. I have. I just don't do it as often as I could.
ANYWAY.
There was that little window of time when we weren't sure how COVID was spread, so playgrounds were shut down. That was not a fun time in our lives because sometimes running free is exactly what Mila needs to do. But ... I got out of swing duty for that time. It was swell.
Then came winter and it was too cold for the playground.
And then came fake spring and I offered Alexis $10 to entertain her sister on the swings for half an hour while I walked around a park and I'll be damned if that $10 didn't buy me a 6-year old who can do it herself.
WORTH IT.
It's going to be a good summer, y'all.
