She said, "Mom, can we make Firecrackers?"
I heard, "Mom, can we make things that we get to set on fire and then make go BOOM?"
OF COURSE I SAID YES. Then I learned that I should ask more questions because Alexis wasn't referring to the kind of Firecrackers that go BOOM, but rather to a drink that she learned how to make at school.
It was a pretty disappointing discovery, unless you are Alexis. In that case, you're totally happy with the outcome because HOOBOY does the child love the drink she taught me how to make.
Honestly, I'm -meh- about it, but there's a very important fact that matters here. I don't like root beer floats. I don't like Coke floats. I basically don't like when it at all when ice cream touches my soda. So. So OF COURSE I'm just -meh- on Firecrackers. I mean, I get the allure, I just prefer to keep my ice cream and soda in separate cups.
Not this kid, though.
She's definitely in favor of throwing everything in together. By "everything," I mean vanilla ice cream,
a whole package of Pop Rocks (Alexis voted Watermelon flavor the best),
and then some lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up.
The fizz factor is FANTASTIC, especially because some of the Pop Rocks try to jump out of the cup. I found the whole thing to be highly entertaining.
Meanwhile, Alexis found the drinks to be highly delicious.
Especially the part where she got to suck down some Pop Rocks. That was her favorite.
Firecrackers
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 package Pop Rocks, any flavor
1 cup lemon-lime soda
1. Find a cup.
2. Throw everything in together.
3. Enjoy!
