Game Over

A really long time ago, I stood in front of a room of aspiring bloggers and said that the key to my ability to blog daily (for 9 years and counting!) is to figure out what good happened in that day. Way back when I said that, it was a pretty easy mission. There was always something good. There was always something worth remembering.

That mission hasn't been easy for a while now.

There's a line I don't cross in this space and I'm still not going to cross it, but YOU GUYS. If I did cross that line, there would have been so many things I've would have written. The sanitized for this space version is that Office Space is a funny movie, but it's not funny when you're living that life. For reals. There isn't a single thing funny about having a section on your status reports that you use to report the amount of time you spend doing status reports because WOAH.

And those were the good days. The really bad days made me wish for status reports about status reports.

That's enough about that. The only reason I mention any of it is because GAME OVER. I need a marker in this space to remind me later about when the game ended, so here it is. A marker.

The marker happens to come during a week when I'm supposed to be catching up on things around the house. I don't HAVE to be anywhere for just these few days. However, that project is going about as well as anyone who has met Mila would expect.

The first two days of Mila and Mom Do Things were more about Mila doing things and me chasing her because that child is a hazard to herself and others. Case in point, upon discovering that the patio chairs rock, she thought she would go surfing.

Enjoy the moment you've been given. I do believe that's what she was trying to say.

But then came today. Mila wasn't feeling all together great and neither was I because kids share germs much better than they share food. She wasn't miserable, per se, she just really wanted to snuggle and sleep and chill out. The only requirement was that she had to be touching me the whole time. Thus, we spent a lot of time on the couch.

Enjoy the moment that you've been given.

That kid is smart.
