We're seven days into November and I still have Halloween decorations up. They're not far away from the four Christmas trees that are also up, so not all hope is lost. But it's getting close. I am most definitely running behind all things Christmas already.
This is basically my own notice to myself that it's time to pull it together. I need to FOR SURE grab the candy out of the Halloween bags that can be used for cookies. That's straight-up critical. Mila doesn't need to eat a handful of Snickers nearly as bad as I need to make cookies out of them.
There's a few other cookies that I usually make in November and freeze ahead of the holidays. It's the easiest way to keep Christmas and all of its preparations from being all of the chaos - find the things that can be done early and do them. Ignore the internet haters that give you grief about it. They're the same people panicking the week before Christmas while I'm tying up a few loose ends, but mostly enjoying sparkly lights and cookies.
