Let's Go To Her Party

If you say the sky is blue, Mila will argue with you. Arguing is a thing she does very well, I'm sure in so small part because SOME people can't go three minutes without arguing around here.

Ahem.

The fact that Mila has picked up on this thing where we must disagree with everything was the exact reason I wasn't surprised that she argued with me when I told her we were going to walk into my office. I could stay there for 100 hours straight and not get caught up right now, so when given the choice between entertaining Mila at the dance studio during Alexis' classes and going to my office, hecks yeah I ran back to work. It's really super possible to contain Mila there. Bonus: I can get a lot done when there are no other adults in the building.

So, I told Mila we were walking into my office. She disagreed. "No, we're going to my party."

HER PARTY.

She said it about 15 times, so I should have expected what came next.

There is exactly one reason both girls like visiting my office: the candy. I keep a jar of candy on my desk because candy. I like candy. I like it best when it's easily accessible because then I eat less of it. There's some weird math thing that happens where I'm content with one snack size Twix, but if there isn't something small like that, I then end up eating half a vending machine of junk. So, there's candy on my desk. The girls think it's SO AMAZING.

Mila ran her little butt over to the candy jar and then started digging. She is selective in her indulgences, so she wanted to see what all was in there before she made a selection.

Lollipops, man. She found the lollipops.

Mila sat on the floor happily sucking on lollipops for a good half hour. Then she grabbed a marker and made me a pretty picture on the white board. Then she took over one of my monitors so she could stare at YouTube vidoes. Which, for the record, she managed to get one toddler-appropriate video out of me. Then I let a work thing play and she didn't complain, so obviously I kicked butt on that project.

So, yeah. Party. Mila's visits to my office are definitely a party.

Here's to hoping she always finds going to work as fun as she does now.
