I mentioned several years ago that I don't do New Years resolutions. That's still true. I'm entirely too good at procrastination to start using a particular date as a starting point because do you know how many things I could wait to start on January 1st?
Welp, I haven't cooked a decent meal yet this year. I'll make that my next New Years resolution!
The house is trashed. Welp. New Years resolution!
I really should do something about the disaster zones that are our closets. I'll just vow to do that starting January 1st. Of 2020.
Seriously. I could easily play that game.
Instead, I start that thing I need to start right away. There's no better time than now, right?
EXCEPT THAT I FINISHED SOMETHING.
Dubious child is dubious for a good reason. I see shiny things and I go POOF! and stop things
all
the
time.
But this time I started something and I finished it. So. I hereby declare that I made a New Years resolution!
I resolved to finish a crochet project that couldn't be completed in one sitting!
And then I checked that resolution off of my list on January 4th! BOOM.
Just don't ask me about the blanket I started crocheting over a year ago. So what if it still isn't done?
SHINY.
(Can we talk about how fantastic the morning light is in Mila's room? Because I want to make out with that light. If I hadn't already checked off a New Years resolution, I might have had to resolve to take advantage of it at least once per week.)
(I would link you to a pattern that I used for the sweater, but I didn't use one. Three failed starts were blamed on patterns that didn't run true on size, so my fourth try involved measuring the child and winging it. WHICH MAKES THE FACT THAT IT'S DONE EVEN MORE AMAZING, HUZZAH!)
