I know I’m supposed to be excited each time Mila hits a new milestone, but YOU GUYS.
That child. That child was sitting right next to her piano when I walked ten feet to the kitchen to get coffee. I turned around and BAM. Miss Mila had somehow scooted her little booty backwards a few feet.
On one hand, I love that Mila is tiny bundle of determined curiosity. If she wants something, she finds a way to get it. I can’t describe how thrilled she was that she had moved as far as she did. Smiles for miles, you guys.
But then again, she’s FOUR MONTHS OLD. I just can’t get excited about her becoming mobile at 4 months old. I AM NOT READY. Or, more accurately, the house is not ready.
For example, when we moved in, we knew we had some issues that had to be addressed eventually. Eventually has turned into NOW because that carpet she scooted herself across is sooooo gross. It was gross when we moved in and two dogs and three cats have done a most excellent job of making it grosser. But hey, at least Mila was kind enough to lick some of it cleaner for me! And as an added bonus, she spit up all over herself and the floor, too!
OK, so I have a mess problem on my hands. The house. The baby. Both of them. MESSY.
I’m going to need to set aside a few weekends to attack all of the mess. And soon, because Miss Mila becoming mobile early means she’s going to be mobile as she’s starting to eat real food and HAHAHAHA! I can’t wait to see how far she can spread some mushy peas!
(Seriously, I can’t wait. I love the adventure that is tiny people discovering food.)
Admittedly, I was considering letting the dogs be in charge of cleaning up when Mila starts smearing her dinner all over everything in her reach, but I suppose that’s probably not as good of a solution as using Babyganics Toy & Highchair Cleaner.
Seriously, it didn’t dawn on me until recently that it probably isn’t a great idea to use my usual antibacterial spray all over Mila’s highchair and toys. It definitely leaves behind a scent, which means it’s leaving behind other things and GROSS. She already puts her mouth on absolutely everything. I’d rather that the surfaces be cleaned with something that is non-toxic, unscented, and doesn’t leave behind any residue.
We were given some Babyganics products to try out, including the Foaming Dish & Bottle Soap; Toy & Highchair Cleaner Spray; and Face, Hand & Body Wipes.
The Foaming Dish & Bottle Soap instantly proved its worth as it cleaned off the weird film that our dishwasher has been leaving behind on bottles. Not only did it work, but the dispenser is pretty fantastic as well. It has a squishy foam thing, so I don’t end up creating a pile of bubbles all the way up to the ceiling when I’m just trying to wash one thing.
The Toy & Highchair Cleaner Spray has been helpful for cleaning all of the old toys that once belonged to Alexis as we give them to Mila. They have come out sparkling clean and don’t have any sort of scent or residue on them.
As for the Face, Hand & Body Wipes, I bet you can guess how many wipes we go through in a day. (Hint: ALL OF THE WIPES.)
So, hey! At least things are starting to get cleaner and less messy around our house!
Until Mila really figures out this mobility thing and unleashes her curiosity on everything, that is.
