The Latest Year End Review Post Ever

My mind apparently exists in a very different time zone from my body. I could swear it was 2010 about ten seconds ago, and yet allegedly we're well into 2016. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? It can't be 2016 until I have blogged about some of my favorite things that happened in ... wait, what year is it again?

I don't even know anymore.

Last year, whatever year that happened to be, was a year that can be best described as the year that a lot of things changed. It was the year when Mila went from being a baby to a toddler, complete with walking and running and talking and you guys, she's a tiny little person with thoughts and feelings now. She wasn't quite there a year ago at this time.

It was also the year that things finally came together for me to leave a job at a terrible place with some really terrible people. There were also some amazingly fantastic people, which complicated things a bit, but leaving was a very good move. That "very good move" bit is quite the understatement, for what it's worth. Things are most excellent on that front now. Really, really excellent.

Another thing that stands out about last year is a thing that Alexis lists as one of her Top Two Most Awesomest Memories of 2015 -- our trip to New York City. Miss Alexis was my accomplice in some shenanigans at BlogHer. A great time was had by all. I dare say that it was an experience that changed Alexis' life. For the better.

The other thing that changed Alexis' life was her audition for the dance team. Of course she made the team and it has proven to be her most favorite thing in the world. She just barely survived the two-week break from rehearsals during the holidays. There was serious twitching involved. Fortunately, she received lots and lots of dance gear for Christmas, so she had a few things to distract herself.

This next year is likely to bring about even more changes. Mila will be busting into the Terrible Twos. Alexis will hopefully have the time of her life at a dance competition or ten. I've already got a few things evolving on my end.

Life is good, kids. 2015 set things up quite nicely for 2016.
