Apparently we're still doing Easter? I guess?

It seems as if 2020 taught us a lot of things, like maybe we should find new ways to celebrate holidays. I for one greatly enjoyed not travelling like Carmen Santiago all through the winter holidays. The stillness was pretty great, especially because I got to spend more time with my Christmas trees. Despite the joy that all brought, my children are really very convinced that the Easter bunny is going to show up this weekend.

It's unfair. We should have left the Easter bunny back in 2020. He doesn't deserve 2021.

Mila in particular is ALL IN on what she expects to be the greatest egg hunt of all time. I was like, "I'll just hide 10 or so eggs" and she was all, "I'm going to find HUNDREDS of eggs!"

Ugh.

To make matters worse, the child spent the entire day creating adorable art work for the bunny. She wrote him a note that says "I love you" and all sorts of cuteness, so I super can't let her down.

I was genuinely FOR REAL annoyed about this whole thing until about two hours ago when I was walking through Target and had a very important realization - Reese's peanut butter eggs. They are a thing. They are the tax that I charge for the sake of Easter existing.

And, so, BRING ON EASTER. I have peanut butter eggs to eat!
