Having managed to sidestep the phenomenon last year when it was nearly impossible to acquire the fuzzy little things, I'm only recently beginning to learn about ZhuZhu Pets. So far, I have learned that there is a very good reason they have that huge, "Keep away from hair" sticker on them.
I have discovered that the little squeaky noises that ZhuZhu Pets make attract kids almost as well as an ice cream truck.
I have learned that a Bulldog will eat a ZhuZhu Pet, if given the opportunity.
And I have realized that ZhuZhu Pets can be a cat's best friend.
Perhaps the most important thing I have learned about ZhuZhu Pets in the past few weeks is that Cepia, LLC, the people who make ZhuZhu Pets, knows how to make some very serious magic.
May I present Random Acts of Zhu?
That's 104 ZhuZhu Pets.
In other words, that's A LOT OF ZHUZHU PETS.
Random Acts of Zhu is a program Cepia, LLC is running this year for Christmas. They sent 100 bloggers 104 ZhuZhu Pets each, with instructions to go do some good with them. I was one of the lucky bloggers.
You know what happens when I get my hands on toys near Christmas, right? Of course you do.
104 ZhuZhu Pets are making their way to Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center just in time for Christmas.
That's 104 ZhuZhu Pets for kids whose lives have been impacted directly by domestic violence. Cepia, LLC may call it a Random Acts of Zhu, I call it Random Acts of AMAZING.
I'd like to show you photos of the ZhuZhu Pets spreading their . . . um . . . fur and finding new homes, but domestic violence shelters battle security and privacy issues that make that a not-so-good idea. So, instead, Alexis and I experimented in our dining room to find some things you can do with 104 ZhuZhu Pets.
You can make a snow angel.
You can swim in them.
You can imagine the insane fun you could have if you busted all 104 of them out of their boxes, dressed them in military fatigues, and armed them with sporks before setting them all free in the middle of the street . . .
Er, I mean you can just sit and stare at them and imagine how big of a difference they are going to make in some kids' Christmas joy.
HUGE thanks to Cepia, LLC for helping to make a little more Christmas Crazy magic!
(Oh, and in case you've lost track, that means so far this year Christmas Crazy has:
1. Sent $3150 to Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center, which will be used to brighten kids' Christmas
2. Loaded a bus full of toys for Toys for Tots.
3. Set 104 ZhuZhu Pets into the wild.
There's still one more thing to be done, but our total has gone over $8000 if you count the value of those ZhuZhu Pets. Which I do. OF COURSE.
Thank you all so much!)
