And This is Why She Sleeps Alone

Alexis always starts the night all snuggled up tight, looking as cuddly as can be:

(And yes, that is a sippy cup sticking out from under her bum. I'm not the one that put it there, I promise.)

But then she actually falls asleep and turns into the sprawling bed hog that she really is:

I don't really know why she insists on shoving her head into the smallest area possible, but she does it every single night. If she had a pillow, she would probably sleep with her head under it AND shoved into a corner.

In Case You Were Wondering

A few weeks ago I mentioned that Alexis had moved to the toddler room at daycare. I have managed to make a few comments that led to the situation there improving and I'd have to say she's doing fine at this point. Early on when I showed up to pick her up and she was sitting in the corner by herself eating a stick of chalk, she wasn't doing fine. But there's been none of that lately (and, yes, I did make a big old drama out of the fact that she could have choked and that she had obviously been doing it for a while--she had white clown lips stretching from ear to ear).

I can't say the same for Zoe and Eva, however. Zoe just couldn't do the outside play thing. Initially they took a stroller outside and she sat in there. When that didn't work, she ended up back in the infant room. Eva is ending up split about 50/50 between the toddlers and the infant room. Some days she wants to be a big girl, other days she's having none of it. Alexis is the only one that has managed to stay with the toddlers full time. Of course, if you let her eat a stick of chalk, she'll do a lot of things for you ;-)

Big News

I'm waiting for a process to run on my computer, and you know what that means . . . time to check the news in Minot! Today's headlines:

Man converts car to electric power
Kiting even Skydance Sakakawea set for weekend
Velva pharmacist receives award

The car story is the top headline right now. I don't know what that kiting story is all about but I guess it involves flying a kite. And I think "even" is supposed to be "event." (North Dakotans are not known for the editing prowess.) The pharmacist won an award for being named the 2007 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year in North Dakota. I bet the other two young pharmacists in the state are real mad they didn't win. Better luck next year.
