Sometimes I Do as I'm Told
Karen over at The Rocking Pony (Who just so happens to make the cutest shirts EVAH! They are absolutely worth waiting for.) tagged me to do a little meme and I thought, what the heck, my brain is still on vacation, I'll do it. Then I realized that it would require digging through old posts and now I'm traumatized. Gah! It's painful reading some of the the old stuff. Why didn't anyone ever tell me how crappy it was?
Anyway, here's the rules of the meme: Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. But there is a catch:
Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are… what you’re all about.
Link 4 must be about something you love.
Link 5 can be anything you choose.
Here goes . . .
1. This whole bloggy shebang is about my little family, but I thought this post was fun. The good news is that I am almost never sick. Alexis swims in a petri dish at daycare every day, so she brings the misery a little bit more frequently, but really not all that often.
2. My very best friend in the whole wide world is my husband. My second best friend is named Tony.
3. I'm all about keeping the Toddler safe. It is, after all, my number one priority.
4. I really, really love Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I just won't pay over $4 for one (and I haven't!).
5. Looking back at this advice, it's still the single-most important piece of parenting wisdom anyone has bestowed upon little ol' me.
Go show those posts some love. At least one of them deserves it, right?
And now to show some other blogs some love. I'm tagging people I've recently discovered so they can do all the hard work of combing their archives for great posts for me.

Great posts. Love the Dr. Suess. That picture is priceless. So close...
Your neighbor sounds like he's as fun as a mortician. geez.
And, Dr. Seuss? Priceless.
How did she get her whole arm outta her jammies?
I loved reading those old posts--HILARIOUS! I love the letter, the ingenious advice. Perfect!!!
Love this pic of Alexis!
She looks like she's doing one of those "and this was the trajectory of the bullet" re-creations on an episode of CSI! :)
I can't wait to go back and read these!
I'm so glad to know that Punkin is not the only one who walks around with her arm hanging out like that. She has stretched the neck of so many shirts!
The Dr. Seuss one is my favorite! Maybe I should write fellow Pittsburghers a letter myself, because I think I'm going to be a dragger also. Oh, and I also have a ring story. Maybe I'll post it soon.
I, too, would like to know how she got her arm out without unzipping?
Sasha always gets his appendages stuck inside and can't find the holes.
I think most children have a little bit of Houdini in them. How else can you possible explain how they get themselves stuck in their own clothes?

That was a fun meme, but you're right, a lot of work. Great job picking out the posts. Ya gotta love that neighbor. He does sound like a genius.
Such a cute pic!
:)
I had fun going back and reading these posts!!
No need to threaten to kick my tooshie - I KNOW they are all good guys! (well, most of the time!) :-)

SO did you get a new wedding ring???? You KNOW it's under there! You just know it!
Actually, the wedding ring was found two weeks later. Tony is my best friend because he kept making the maintenance guys look for it every time they worked on that escalator.
OMG! How did you keep from rolling that paint roller right down that man's face!! Also, could I borrow it for just a few minutes...there's somebody at my house who totally deserves it.
Loved your Dr. Seuss! *whispers* I would pay it with a gift card.
And I'm sooo glad they found your ring!
Since I know Mr. Husband doesn't read comments, allow me to confess something: I really was hoping Tony wouldn't find the ring. I'm very grateful for all his effort, but it might have been, I don't know, nice to have gotten a new one. I love the one I have, but I definitely could come up with something I love even more, given the chance (and the insurance money).
ROFL at that picture :) Loved the latte....that was sooo up my alley ;)
This is exactly why I tagged you. They sucketh not, they rawketh. (Okay, I'm tired. Forgive me.)
You didn't know you shouldn't let your kid run in the street?! How fortunate for you that you've got that neighbor to point out the error of your every way. (I'd strangle him. Or let him babysit.)
The ring! I'm so sorry. I lost mine once, but fortunately I got it back. Man, that hurts.
And the Dr. Seussbucks is genius. Inspired!
That photo is just way too perfect. And what a genius neighbor....
I just tagged you for a different meme. Sorry, I hope you'll do it.
Cute picture!
Thanks for the tag. I hope you'll forgive me if I don't do the meme for awhile - I'm quite terrible at getting around to them. I'm a jerk that way. :)

Ha ha! I won't kill you (THIS time anyway!!) ;) I think this is a meme I'M SUPPOSED TO DO because I've been tagged for it twice and haven't gotten around to it from the first time...maybe someone's trying to tell me something??
Watch for MEME MANIA over at my place while I CATCH UP on all my neglected memes!! (They've been piling up in my closet...) ;)
Hilarious!
And about tagging me...you're so dead at recess!!
I can't wait to go back and read.
I loved the faux-Suess and the parenting advice and promise to try to keep it in mind. Glad to hear the ring thing turned out OK, not perfect, but OK.
As for planning your death, all I can come up with around here is a remote control nerf dart machine gun, 2 broken super soakers and a unspiraled slinky...so you can rest easy.
I hadn't read any of these. Loved them all, as I knew I would.
1. We've been through the screaming every half an hour too. I so wish sometimes I COULD be like my kids and actually get sick without being haruphed at when I don't want to be mom for the day...sigh. Yea right.
2. Did you ever find the ring?
3. I LOVE to hear the under the breath grumbles, what's wrong with you? Good heck, they'd be talking a lot louder if you LET her do the run where the cars are dance. People are weird.
4. I won't pay $4 for a 12 pack of diet pepsi I'm so cheap.
5. What a lovely neighbor you have! I so WISH I could have been at that last meeting where he talked about his seniority. And his advice, priceless. Tell him we're all grateful.
I love Alexis' take on the one-shoulder baring garments that are in-style right now.
Cooper likes to do that sometimes when I'm trying to get him dressed/undressed. Not so cute on a boy. ;)
oh, and I still drag Gavin everytime where in a parking lot type situation, and he's usually shrieking, too.
