Lesson Learned
Roll with me on this for just a moment ... they now let toddlers go to homecoming. Crazy, right?
That's definitely an toddler dressed like a near-adult on her way to homecoming. Any attempts to dispute that statement will be promptly ignored. REPORT AND BLOCK, JERKS.
Anyway, Alexis and a group of friends did the whole homecoming thing this past weekend, which is wild. It's pandemic wild. It's "she's an toddler" wild. It's wild on every possible level. Regardless, she had a great time and all of that.
But did you notice her shoes? Scroll back up and look at her shoes.
Right about now every woman who looked at that photo is thinking, "Oh, honey." I know, right? How is the knowledge that strappy heels are made by the devil not a generational knowledge thing that we manage to pass on to our children? I mean, I tried to tell her, but Alexis apparently needed to learn for herself that devil shoes are not worth the pain.
I did try.
It took Alexis about 20 minutes to figure out that I wasn't lying and that those shoes, while cute, were definitely not worth the torture. It didn't matter, though, because after 20 minutes, she was committed for the night. It was too late to go find another pair of shoes and she didn't want to do the tennis shoes thing. Which, oh well! If you won't listen to me, you get to enjoy learning the lesson the hard way.
For what it's worth, all of Alexis' friends committed the same painful error. There was a whole group of girls wearing sky-high heels and making pained faces each time they tried to take a step. What was even more fun was that they were all waddling like toddlers. For real, it was like watching them all learn to walk all over again.
So, yeah, they totally let toddlers go to homecoming. I can prove it because I have video of all these girls waddling like they're took their first steps yesterday.
