A Post That Is Not About That Thing
So much ugly in the world right now.
So much.
I'm pretty much at the point where I want to crawl under a rock and not hear anything about anybody from that town that is a bit east of Pittsburgh for a veeeeeeeerrrrrrry long time. I have my opinions and you have your opinions and we all agree that the whole thing shouldn't have ever happened in the first place and . . . yeah. I'm so over it. Really. I can't take much more.
So . . . uh . . . SQUIRREL!
(If you don't get that, I weep for you. WEEP. FOR. YOU. Go find Up! and watch it right this second.)
How about I just shut up and counter all the ugly with a little bit of cute? Alexis and I had so much fun putting life on hold for a bit while we stomped around a playground the other day that we decided to do it again.
SQUIRREL!
Why, yes, the sunglasses are bigger than her head. I think that's why she likes them.
Can we talk about how those shorts were too big at the beginning of the summer? How about how they now look like they were painted on the kid? I probably should have stashed them in the "too small" clothes pile weeks ago, but who would have thought we'd have a shorts and flip-flops sort of day in November? Not me. Oh, and who told the kid she was allowed to have legs THAT long? Gah! It looks like she's sporting Daisy Dukes, but really she just has legs that go on for miles.
Static electricity makes the kid happy. It's a fact.
It's too bad the kid is always so miserable.
Gimme your SQUIRREL! stuff, folks. I need some more happy distracting things until the whole Ugly Thing blows over a bit.

Okay this one is going to sound like a real downer (and I'm *totally* sure you've read it already but I have to send it anyway.)
From "Telling Dad" (who incidentally you should totally team up with to do super awesome things.) his bost called "Bankruptcy Sucks" : http://www.tellingdad.com/2011/bankruptcy-sucks/
I am busy organising a swim of the Midmar Mile ( a big event on the swim calendar for this country) to help raise funds for a liitle boy called Reef Carneson. He is suffering from acute leukima and the only hope for him is a hospital in LA. Two weeks ago he was flown out there with his family by Virgin Atlantic. An Sms drive and a concert by the Parlotones raised the $110000 needed to start his treatment. Today I heard that one of the biggest banks in South Africa Standard Bank will be sponsoring our swim which now looks like it will raise a huge part of the remaing $500000 to complete his treatment. I hope this will put a smile on your face. Despite the sad story of this boy that there are people in this world willingly to try so hard to help him makes me smile.
I just noticed last week that Maggie's legs are getting LOOOOONG. I thought the same thing: WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU COULD DO THAT, KID??
oh! and SQUIRREL! (I... still have not seen that movie. Crap.)

I just keep looking at this picture and smiling. Makes me happy when I need it :)
We love Up in this family. So much so that I made my husband a bottle cap badge one year for his birthday. He keeps it on him everyday.
Squirrel!! Last night i had a meeting with the owner of New 2 You Consignment Store in Irwin PA. She is now carrying a selection of my hair bows, pj pants and cute handmade tees!! I'm so excited that i haven't stopped saying "Oh my god my stuff is in a store!" since last night. I'm driving my fiancee crazy!
Anyone who stops in the store and makes a purchase and says that I sent you (Karyn Trovato or Kat Papercrafts) gets 20% this month. The store is in the business/shop district of Irwin right off the turnpike. (Be careful there are two Main Streets if you plug it into Garmin/GPS.!
Try to think of all the good out there to counter all the crappy and bad. :)
i love you so hard.

Loving your post today. I've been searching for 'that something' as well and your post made me smile.
Today, my 5-year-old son was kicked by our unborn baby (I am 8 months along) while I was snuggling with him. The giggles that I heard from him made my heart melt. Then, he spoke right to my belly and said "Hi baby, it's your big brother. I'll get to see you soon!" Melt.
A photo of your smiling daughter helped restore my faith in humanity. Her face, her smile, her laugh...SQUIRREL. You have it. Embrace it. And tune out the ugly.
I NEVER comment on blogs, but had to with this one! It's an inside joke that we say "Squirrel" whenever one of us gets easily distracted-usually me! Thanks for a great laugh among this crazy, sad week!
My husband said we have to remind each other that there are LOTS of good people in this world.
