I already posted this to Instagram, but I feel like everyone should experience this moment of OMG I'M SO OLD with me.
First, you have to imagine the scene. We were in Columbus this past weekend for a dance competition. Yes, those are still happening, albeit with lots of safety precautions in place. An impressive level of safety precautions, even.
Anyway, I was seated on a little island with just Mila. The nearest other human was at least ten feet away. Mila was entertaining herself with her Kindle Fire. We were waiting for Alexis to dance in the next group performance, but then the little number on my phone caught my attention. Why wait impatiently when I can look at Timehop, y'know?
So I did. I was treated with the usual lineup of #MorningThings from the past six years, but there were also some older photos and videos. Buried in there was a video of tiny Alexis dancing. It was from the exact same date, but in 2013. So I had that moment of watching tiny Alexis followed immediately by all grown up Alexis on stage and UGGGGGGGH.
Life comes at you fast, that's all I'm saying.
(Thank goodness her tap dance was already over when I watched the video from 2013 because if I had seen little tapping Alexis right before big tapping Alexis it would have been even uglier.)
