Boo Hiss
If there's anything that Mila and I agree on, it's SNOW! SNOW! YAAAAAY! SNOOOOOW!
We both kinda like the glittery white stuff.
I have a theory that if it's going to be cold outside, it might as well be pretty outside. Snow may not be quite as pretty as spring flowers on a 70 degree day, but it's still pretty fantastic. Thus, any time the temperature drops below about 30 degrees, I start complaining that it needs to snow.
Mila's glee every time a few flakes call from the sky is a pretty clear indication that she's in agreement. She stands at the window and literally cheers for every little flake. Even more adorable, the other day she spent the entire car ride home from school trying to convince Alexis that they should go build a snowman.
Is "Do you wanna build a snowman?" stuck in your head now? Good, because it has been in mine every since Mila very seriously posed the question to her sister.
Snow makes the cold okay. It's a fact.
Or so I thought.
I have long held onto that little opinion. I didn't consider that I might disagree with it until today. First, I spent a morning working outside because my life is weird.
It was a little chilly.
Then it got chillier when I returned to my car. The blower that makes warm air embrace the people inside my car has decided to break. So I went from cold to colder and there was nothing that could be done. That's all it took for me to turn my back on cold weather.
I get it now.
I get why Mila reacted so strongly to this morning's 5 degrees. When Mila and I walked out the door. Mila very literally gasped and it wasn't a good gasp. It was a WHAT IS THIS HORROR? gasp. When she was done being shocked, Mila turned her attention to all of the cold air.
She was angry.
Mila doesn't really know any swear words yet, but I guarantee you that she made up her own and she used every last one of them as she told the snow and cold to go away.
