Day One Hundred Eighty-Six

The advantage to going to the beach in September is that there aren't very many people around. The disadvantage to going to the beach in September is that there aren't very many people around because the weather can be ... questionable.

We have definitely been treated with some rain and wind and cold weather. I mean, it was only 65 degrees one day. SO COLD.

But, seriously, it was too cold for hanging out on the beach in the waves, especially because the wind was insane. Thus, I took the girls to a place that I knew they would be really happy because Everything! Is! So! Exciting!

A Botanical Garden. I don't know how it is that I raised two girls who will happily look at plants with me, but I did. Mila is even more excited about going to big gardens than Alexis, which is saying something because Alexis looooves Botanical Gardens. She has already asked to return multiple times and is planning trips in future years during different seasons because it will look different then.

This time, though, Alexis was in it for the dead guys.

The Botanical Gardens that we went to has a whole row of statues of famous artists. Of course, they all happen to be men because HAHAHAHALOLZZZZ only men do great things, don't you know? ANYWAY. Alexis found the statues to be entertaining and thusly posed in front of every single one of them.

Mila never saw a situation she couldn't force herself into, so of course she joined in with the shenanigans.

Sometimes the addition of Mila even worked out.

The whole thing led to Alexis asking where the statues of notable female artists were, which HAHAHAHALOLOLOLZZZ, child, history does not note women. We've talked about this. Unfortunately, Alexis asked the question out loud, so Mila quickly mounted a search mission to find the female statues.

She found one.

And that led to both of my child simultaneously yelling, "BUT WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE NAKED?"

Good times, right there. I have no answers to their question other than ... America. Thus, I went in search of a distraction. I found it in the form of another woman depicted by a statue. She didn't have a head, but whatever. We silly girls can't be bothered to think with our pretty little heads anyway.
