Day Three Hundred
"Day Three Hundred."
Hahahahahahalololololsob.
When I started the whole thing with blog titles being the number of days since the girls set foot in a school or I set foot in an office and all of that, I never for a second thought it would stretch to a year. Dear reader, it is definitely going to stretch to a year. I was supposed to reassess the whole school thing for a potential return to "normal" after Christmas but hahahahahahalolololsob. It's cute that I had hope that things would be closer to normal after half the school year.
I would like to get off this ride now, please.
ANYWAY. The reason I'm all sorts of doom and gloom is that I made the mistake of trying to watch some of this seasons Grey's Anatomy. It turns out that was a very bad idea. It's much easier to keep the whole "tons of people are dying" thing in a box and tucked high on a shelf if you don't let yourself stop and think about what is happening all around us. But, like, it's real. All of this is real.
ANYWAY AGAIN. I ended up in Grey's land because I finished my most recent television series binge and basically what I'm saying is give me ideas of things to watch. I have already worked my way through everything Marvel, everything DC (the first season of Arrow? A MASTERPIECE.), Outlander, every awful Netflix Christmas movie there was, Umbrella Academy, Dash & Lily, Stranger Things, Atypical, Bridgerton, Travelers, Queen's Gambit, The Witcher, and goodness knows what else. (STOP JUDGING ME. IT'S BEEN A LONG PANDEMIC.) I need ideas. Bonus points for being just unrealistic enough to offer a total distraction from reality. I also prefer things that have already ended because clean, happy endings are pretty darn excellent. Oh, and anything that involves deadly contagious anything is out.
So is there anything left worth watching? Or do I start Gilmore Girls again?

Having this trouble too - I swear I've watched all the TV there is to watch! Saving Hope was a nice find on Hulu - I'd somehow managed to never watch that before. Also really enjoying Bosch on Amazon Prime.
Yes! Watch Stargate SG-1, there’s 7 seasons and it’s over and it’s beautifully 90s and Amanda Tapping is a treasure and did I mention MacGuyver’s in it?
I just rewatched Schitt's Creek for the second time and about to rewatch Bojack Horseman for the fourth time. Also, "just enough outside of reality" is Future Man on Hulu -- I'll admit that season 1 is better than 2 and 3 BUuuuuuut it's pretty great for mindless binge watching AND it already ended so you're golden.
How about What We Do In the Shadows? It’s very funny! Playing on Hulu.
Good Omens and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency--both are on Amazon Prime
The West Wing, a good way to remember how Washington is supposed to work.
How about Madam Secretary? It is over.
i am pretty addicted to doctor shows but had to stop watching for a bit. It's been too much.
On Netfix Cobra Kai (you could easily watch the Karate Kid with the girls and then watch this show), 5 flights up (movie- pretty cute), started Grey's again from the beginning, How to get away with Murder, Imposter, Jesse Stone movies (I found most for free on YouTube - they have subtitles in Spanish and I think one was Russian) . If I think of more, I will come back.
Big Little Lies, Fleabag, The Good Place, Community, New Girl, Russian Doll, Ozark, Grace & Frankie, Little Fires Everywhere, Great British Baking Show, History of Swear Words, Jessica Jones, (Un)Well, Space Force ... And now I am completely devolving back to my safe space: romantic comedies and crime documentaries
Bosch - mentioned above, but it is a detective show so make of that what you will. But it is excellent...
Derry Girls - just started this but the music alone is making me happy.
If you like odd humor, give Letterkenny a try (I needed captions for the first few episodes until I was able to follow the dialect). Definitely not a good show to watch with littles around, but it has me laughing when nothing else does.
Good Girls
I second Good Omens and Derry Girls. We have watch every baking challenge out there from Kid's Baking to Great British Bake Off.
The Good Witch and Person of Interest are both wonderful !
Ted Lasso! Perfectly uplifting for times like these!
We have enjoyed Good Omens, The Good Place, Grace & Frankie, and Doc Martin, as well as the new She-Ra and Carmen Sandiego series on Netflix.
The Babysitters Club, cobra Kai, schitts creek, queer eye, I’ve also gone thru all episodes of Psych recently
So we cut cable but I have found some other shows on networks that are only on the digital antenna - we have the antenna hooked through the DVR so I can record. Watched all of In Plain Sight and now watching my way through The Good Wife. I never saw these and they are old but not too old. Big Bang Theory has been good for comedy, as well as some already mentioned (Schitt's Creek we started before it got popular but it is funny! and Good Place). I agree with the Grey's diagnosis - I just couldn't continue after like 2 from this season.
My first good binge was McLeod's Daughters on Hulu.
