Day Two Hundred Forty-Four
I know I say this all of the time, but everyone should have a Mila. She is a bolt of joy that flashes through her days, leaving a current of happiness in her wake. She's also the reason for like 90% of my gray hairs, but you have to accept both sides of the coin.
So far this week, Mila has been especially joyful. I'm not sure exactly why, but it definitely started when she busted into my office and screamed, "IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!" at the top of her lungs.
Mute buttons, y'all. They're magical.
That happens to be the moment when Mila fully realized there are advantages to the whole cyber learning thing. She has been enjoying it, but she certainly escalated to being overjoyed when I told her she could go outside and play in the snow right then and there. She still had school work to finish, but so what? She's staying a few days ahead fairly easily, so there's no reason she couldn't cut the day in half.
So she did.
Snow angels were made. Flakes gracefully drifted to her tongue. Mostly, though, there were a lot of smiles and laughter as she ran through the snow and basked in its fun.
The smiles and laughter continued on another day. For reasons that I will never pretend to comprehend, the kid decided to put on a space suit and pilot some flights to other planets. I personally had the opportunity to go to Jupiter. It was a quick flight, but definitely delightful, even though my pilot yelled at me for not properly tightening my rainbow seat belt prior to takeoff.
Get you a Mila, y'all. Just make sure you ALWAYS go see what's going on when she suddenly goes quiet.
