Day Two Hundred Twenty-Two
I had words and such about how much this kid SUPER loved spending a few hours at a pumpkin patch the other day.
But then I started thinking about the fact that Halloween is THIS WEEK and ... y'all. Y'ALL! There will be Christmas trees going up this weekend!
The rainbow tree is going up first. I've already decided. I'm super excited to see it again.
Annnnd right about now at least two people are rolling their eyes and getting super annoyed that it's October and I'm talking about Christmas. They're probably thinking about how much I'm disrespecting the turkey and all of that.
I have one thing to say to that: Stop it.
In this, the Year of Massive Sucktitude that is 2020, WE ALL NEED OUR THINGS. I need sparkly and bright and you better believe I'm going to enjoy that sparkly and bright for every freakin' second of November and December. I'm even thinking about what new Christmas tree I'm going to add (I clearly don't have enough of them. Ahem.) and what the outdoor decorations might look like and AAAAAH! I'M SO EXCITED!
So let me have my thing. Please, just for this one year, do not take to social media and complain "too soon." Avert your eyes, worry about what's happening inside your own house, and find your thing that you're going to cling to as we descend into the abyss that is the fall surge of COVID-19.
Oh, and just in case you're tempted to complain about my decorations, just know one thing. Every time someone tells me "too soon," I'm putting up more lights. I'll turn this place into Christmas Vacation JUST YOU WATCH.

I want to say "too soon" just to see more lights. :) There are so many people who have put up lights this year just to share some joy how can anyone say "too soon"? Do you and enjoy your sparkly and bright.
I can't wait to put up our Christmas stuff. It makes me happy as well and like you - get flack for how many trees/ornaments I have. We were planning on visiting Bronner's again this year...but 2020 kinda ruined it.
It's never too soon. My Christmas decorations are going up the day after Halloween. I need all the sparkly things asap.
Please- I intend to spend November, December and at least a week in January WFHing in front of a Christmas tree!
