Five Best Recipes From 2012

Every once in a while someone will ask me how to find a particular recipe up in the old archives and I'll be Oh! Just search! In the sidebar! and that works just fine. It also works to just click the little category thing at the bottom of any recipe post ...

... except that it doesn't.

Somewhere along the line, I started to get really super sucky at tagging recipe posts.

I realized that little fact earlier today and set out to fix it. That basically meant I had to look at every single post I wrote this year and OMG YOU GUYS I WRITE A LOT.

Anyhoo.

I fixed all of the tags on recipe posts from 2012. While I was at it, I grabbed the links from the five posts that seemed to do the best or that I liked the most. 2012 Recipe Recap time!

The absolutely most shared and read and clicked recipe post I had in 2012 was the salad recipe I stole from my neighbor.

I repeat: the recipe that y'all seemingly liked the most this year was a FREAKIN SALAD RECIPE.

It's as if y'all have seen through my junk-food loving facade and realized I really do like Real Food.

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Another post that did well was the recipe for Spinach and Artichoke Pasta.

That pleases me greatly because we very seriously eat that pasta at least twice per month. Usually more. It's fast and easy and really good.

Another really good one was the Crockpot Applesauce recipe.

I just finally ran out of frozen applesauce a few weeks ago and it was a very sad day. Can it be apple season now so I can make some more and not have it cost a kajillion dollars?

Since we can't fast forward to apple season, I plan to drown my sorrys in these Lime Cheesecakes. They are still one of my favorite things to throw together when we have people over at our house. I have substituted out the lime and made a lemon version instead, which, YES. DO THAT. They turned out fantastic.

The other dessert recipe that I posted in 2012 that I just can't get enough of is the Strawberry Short(cup)cakes.

There are people who demand that I make those things before I show up at their house. Seriously. The frosting on them is perfection, the filling is just the right amount of sweet, and they taste like a magic-infused cloud of amazingness.

So good. So very good.

I know I said I was going to include five recipes from 2012, but I feel like an honorable mention has to go out to my homeslice Nutella and the magic that happens when it gets busy with some ice cream and Captain Crunch.

Consider the Nutella Captain Crunch Milkshake recipe to be 5.5 on the list, mmkay?

Here's to an even bigger and better 2013!

Hi there,

I've made several of your recipes and they've all turned out great. The one I've made the most are the lime cheesecakes! They are fabulous and always a hit!
