IHOP at Home (And a Chance to Win a $100 Walmart Gift Card!) (CLOSED)

If you want to make Alexis squeal with delight, ask her if she wants breakfast for dinner. "YEEESSSSSSS!" she'll say. Always.

It's such a shame she's so hard to please.

As we pulled into our neighborhood a few nights ago, I figured it would be a perfect evening for an easy dinner. "Alexis, do you want pancakes or French toast for dinner?" I asked.

She grinned so big she couldn't let any words out. Finally, she stammered, "Pan...umm...FRENCH TOAST!" "PLEASE!" "...AND CAN I HAVE BLUEBERRY SYRUP?"

She practically vibrated all through the two blocks to our house as she waited for me to approve her syrup plans. Which, of course, I did.

A few weeks ago, IHOP sent me an amazing box filled with their new IHOP At Home® Syrups. There's Original, Lite, Sugar Free, Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Strawberry, and Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Blueberry. I bet you can't guess which one is Alexis' favorite.

She's not wrong about it being REALLY good. It most definitely is. There are little bits of real blueberries all throughout, so it tastes like there's a blueberry explosion going on when you put it in your mouth. DIVINE.

When we finally pulled into the driveway, the vibrating kid ran up to the kitchen and had the bread and eggs out on the counter before I could manage to take my coat off. Together we mixed up the eggs with a little milk, dipped the bread, and cooked up some really fantastic French toast.

Alexis was filled with giggles as we gathered around the table to enjoy dinner. Breakfast for dinner has that effect on her. She especially thought it was funny when she tried to hide the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Blueberry syrup under her chair so I couldn't have any.

It's a good thing I'm bigger than her. Ahem.

It's probably an even better thing that Mr. Husband hasn't joined in our fight over the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Blueberry syrup. He's a big fan of this one instead.

I'll grant him that the Lite is good, but gimme my fruit-flavored syrup, please!

Selecting the syrup at Ihop is the most difficult decision because there are so many good options. We go through a lot of waffles and French toast sticks here, flavored syrups would be a great addition.

I am excited to try these new syrups. My daughter and I must eat gluten-free, so we cannot have pancakes at IHOP anymore. Since these syrups are gluten-free, we'll be able to make gluten-free pancakes and home but use the IHOP syrup - Yum!

that's definitely a great way if you don't have an IHOP near you or if it's not convenient to stop into an IHOP.

I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how crazy the boys are for pancakes. And flavored syrups. Seriously. It's like Santa, The Easter Beagle and the Tooth Fairy all rolled into pancake-y goodness.

March 23, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJenny H.

IHOP is selling their syrups now? I didn't know that! I will definitely have to swing by the store to get some. Sometimes, when we don't have plans, my man and I will go to IHOP for brunch on Sundays. We loooovvveee their pancakes and syrup.
