IHOP at Home (And a Chance to Win a $100 Walmart Gift Card!) (CLOSED)

If you want to make Alexis squeal with delight, ask her if she wants breakfast for dinner. "YEEESSSSSSS!" she'll say. Always.

It's such a shame she's so hard to please.

As we pulled into our neighborhood a few nights ago, I figured it would be a perfect evening for an easy dinner. "Alexis, do you want pancakes or French toast for dinner?" I asked.

She grinned so big she couldn't let any words out. Finally, she stammered, "Pan...umm...FRENCH TOAST!" "PLEASE!" "...AND CAN I HAVE BLUEBERRY SYRUP?"

She practically vibrated all through the two blocks to our house as she waited for me to approve her syrup plans. Which, of course, I did.

A few weeks ago, IHOP sent me an amazing box filled with their new IHOP At Home® Syrups. There's Original, Lite, Sugar Free, Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Strawberry, and Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Blueberry. I bet you can't guess which one is Alexis' favorite.

She's not wrong about it being REALLY good. It most definitely is. There are little bits of real blueberries all throughout, so it tastes like there's a blueberry explosion going on when you put it in your mouth. DIVINE.

When we finally pulled into the driveway, the vibrating kid ran up to the kitchen and had the bread and eggs out on the counter before I could manage to take my coat off. Together we mixed up the eggs with a little milk, dipped the bread, and cooked up some really fantastic French toast.

Alexis was filled with giggles as we gathered around the table to enjoy dinner. Breakfast for dinner has that effect on her. She especially thought it was funny when she tried to hide the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Blueberry syrup under her chair so I couldn't have any.

It's a good thing I'm bigger than her. Ahem.

It's probably an even better thing that Mr. Husband hasn't joined in our fight over the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Blueberry syrup. He's a big fan of this one instead.

I'll grant him that the Lite is good, but gimme my fruit-flavored syrup, please!

You can find IHOP At Home products at stores nationwide. Just use this handy dandy site to locate the store nearest you. You can also follow them on Facebook.

My nieces are thrilled. Pancake making is a staple when I babysit

Pancakes rule. And I had no idea they even made blueberry syrup!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPam

I love me some pancakes, and having multiple syrup options would definitely make our family happy! I think the blueberry kind sounds heavenly - I can see by the pictures that A did, too!

You know what's weird - I don't like pancakes or french toast for breakfast, but love them at other meals. I didn't even know these syrups were in existence, except for in IHOP. But there? OMGYES - anything berry.

Sounds awsome. Now they need to add pancake mix to the product list.;)

I am all about french toast casserole. Easiest thing in the world to make, and that blueberry syrup would made it totally amazeballs.

Brinner is what should be for dinner at least once a week. I hope they add Butter Pecan in the future, because I love that syrup so much. (Ate at IHOP way too much during both pregnancies I'm surprised I didn't give birth to a shortstack of pancakes.) The girls will totally fall in love with the Strawberry!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKrissy

I will literally try anything as long as it has the word 'strawberry' in it. lol

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered Commenternycldenise

While I like pancakes and french toast I have to say that made-from-scratch waffles rule. And oh, my....blueberry would be divine tho my tight jeans would be whimpering for the Lite! Thanks for such a great contest!

I'm a plain jane. Regular maple syrup for me. But discovering you can warm the syrup was an excellent thing.

Well, now I know how I'm spending at least part of my vacation in Philly next week - as soon as I tell my Mister about the blueberry syrup, we're going to have to hunt down a few bottles. Luckily there's a Wal-Mart fairly close to his apartment so we won't have to go far! It'll be strawberry for me, though.

Okay, my mouth is seriously watering.
We have breakfast for dinner a few times a month here. It is a BIG hit. I didn't even know that IHOP sold their syrup in stores. That is so exciting! I will definitely have to pick some up. It sounds delish!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKat

mmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like they have great flavors for the at home product line. considering how much i love me some rooty tooty fresh and fruity pancake specials, this is fantastic. thanks for the giveaway!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterhello haha narf

IHOP syrup is great, but fruit syrup is so easy to make. I make peach, berry or strawberry syrup all the time. Put some frozen fruit in a pan with a little water or juice and start letting it cook down, sweeten to taste with your choice of sweetener (I've used sugar, brown sugar, artificial sweetener and corn syrup all with equal success), hit it with an immersion blender or pour it in a regular blender and serve. I like it a little chunky or you can strain it. Leftovers will keep in the fridge for a week or so.

I haven't seen them at the store yet, but I'm really excited to get the blueberry. I put a sinful amount of blueberry syrup on my pancakes in when I'm actually at IHOP (I always pretend it come out surprisingly fast and I didn't MEAN to drench them. ha! I totally meant to.) Now I can be ashamed in the privacy of my own home :-)

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRose

I love their syrups. Since I'm in grad school and therefore hold ridiculously late hours, I swing by there at least once every other week...

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKathleen

I just saw these at the store last week, and I just want to know when they're coming out with IHOP At Home pancakes to go with??

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKristin

I've never had it but my mouth is kinda watering right now! That french toast looks YUMMY.

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterjen

Now I know what I'm making for dinner tonight- pancakes! I will have to hunt down some of the syrup.....

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterShelly

Alexis must be a mini version of me! If you give me the chance to eat breakfast for dinner I will ALWAYS say yes! Pretty much any time that I've been to an Eat n Park, Bob Evans, or similar restaurant in like the last 10 years I've always ended up with pancakes or french toast :) As for the IHOP syrup - I haven't tried the at home varieties. But if they taste as awesome as the restaurant versions, I am going to love the blueberry :)

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKatie

Now I want pancakes!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBeth

I'm seeing the strawberry and wondering why it's not even opened yet. Unless it's because you're saving the best for last, because there can be no other reason. Right?!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKaren

YAY! We finally got an IHOP out here in the boonies....Westmoreland County!

March 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSarah

Those look fantastic, the husband hate breakfast any other time than breakfast so we especially love getting to have breakfast for dinner when he isnt around. We are HUGE fans of the strawberry,

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSarah S

We love LOVE breakfast for dinner. On the night before leap day we had leap dinner which was pancakes for dinner!!! I think blueberry would probably be my favorite, have your tried adding some to the pancake batter? It would probably be really great yummmnm

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCarlie

My husband so wishes I would buy IHOP syrup more! It goes so much better with the IHOP pancake recipe I use.

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJennifer

I love fruit syrups! Although I can't ever make breakfast for dinner. My husband is one of those people that says breakfast foods can only be eaten at breakfast. :-(

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterHeather

I haven't tried IHOP At Home syrups yet but when I do it will be the maple. I also love breakfasts at other meals. French toast is a favorite at my house.

I must get that blueberry syrup! That was one of my absolute favorite things growing up and I haven't had it in many, many years.

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterEmile

Are you kidding me? Blueberry syrup? I cannot WAIT to look for this today! Breakfast for dinner is a big, Sunday evening dinner affair around these parts. Pancakes are a must (I play with a couple of different homemade recipes) and we've only had blueberry syrup once...because I had some blueberries on their last leg and I had to do SOMETHING with them (I'm cheap). However, Oldest Boy won't eat pancakes. BUT he loves, loves, LOVES blueberries! This could make breakfast for dinner one of a handful of meals that EVERYONE likes! WOOT! Sign me up!

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterThe Mommy

I can't wait to try these. I'll be looking for them on my grocery run this weekend.

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKris

We saw these last month, and immediately snagged the sugar free bottle. I'm diabetic, and I can tell you that not all syrups are equal. This was amazing! And, since I feel better with not giving our 9 month old extra sugar, this has made his pancake experience even better!

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSharon H

Yum!!! I love IHOP, so I can't wait to try these! Alexis also isn't alone with her love of breakfast for dinner. I plan on having breakfast for dinner tonight!

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMonica

I am a fan of maple syrup, but the few times I've been to IHOP I have loved the flavored syrups!

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterhoosierburgher

My kid would go nuts for the strawberry version. The kid's s sucker for all things strawberry.

March 2, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterkakaty

Oh my kids would love the fruity ones! Strawberry would probably go first in my house.
