On the Tenth Day of Christmas Crazy ...

In case you hadn't noticed, Christmas Crazy is still a thing around here. It's moving slowly and steadily, which is just fine. The total right now stands at just over $1800.00. We've got a ways to go, but a few pieces of the puzzle won't come together until the middle of December.

Which is to say, hi! Links and stuff. Shopping is good. So is money.

And so is supporting some of the other ways that Christmas Crazy is coming together. The 2017 Holiday Market Craft and Vendor Show promises to have some great opportunities to knock off some of that Christmas list and while you're at it, you can drop off a toy or ten. One of the organizers behind the event is a former Center for Victims employee, so she can give you first-hand stories about how much good can come of a little bit of Christmas joy.

Oh, and before I rattle off today's version of the 12 Days of Christmas Crazy, HALP! Books! I need ideas for books to add to the list, particularly for ages 4-10. Alexis has told me some ones that she loved, but I need more ideas. All ages, all types of readers ... ideas are good. Feel free to leave titles on any social media channel or in the comments here and I'll add them in the next couple of days.

Thanks so much for your help!

On the tenth day of Christmas Crazy,

my true love gave to me

books for reading,

Superheroes rescuing,

balls for kicking,

blocks for building,

games for playing,

things kids need,

lots of animal fiends,

crafts, paper, and pens

STEM toys they'll love

and all the things for baby.

I just made a small purchase and it's on its way to you. I just have to say that I made this year's purchase with a heavy heart, particularly because I did it with Alina Sheykhet on my mind. She was a former student of mine who was murdered recently by her ex boyfriend. All of a sudden, I have found it increasingly important to support local organizations who provide help and resources to victims of domestic violence.

Just know that my purchase, albeit small, was made in Alina's memory. ♡

Star Wars Academy series, Wimpy Kid series, The Last Kids on Earth, Magic Treehouse, Origami Yoda, any of James Patterson’s kids books, The Best Christmas Pagent Ever, The 39 Clues series, Encyclopedia Brown series, The Invisble String, Kingdom Keepers series

I did not look at what you have already listed. Most of these are on the older side. I will look through charlie’s books for some younger books.

Who Flung Dung? Is awesomely silly. Who doesn’t like a book about poop?

Z is for Moose, anything Mo Willems (Elephant and Piggie or the pigeon series especially), Press Here, Pete the Cat, Last Stop on Market Street and Todd Parr's books are all good! I'll try to think of some of the books that show diverse characters that we use in our preschool!
