Some Things Never Change
As much as the whole Growing Up thing can bite me, I find solace in the fact that some things haven't changed much as we've traveled down our life path.
When Alexis was two, she discovered dandelion seeds. It was love at first sight.
And love at second sight. And love at third sight.
It's still a relationship filled with love. If Alexis sees one of these
the universe pauses. For just a moment, nothing else exists except that little dandelion and its tiny seeds.
Alexis gently blows kisses into the air, setting the tiny seeds free.
Her "gentle kisses" are more like hurricanes, however, so the seeds go spiraling far, far away very quickly. In an instant, all of the seeds are set free.
So she runs off in search of another dandelion with seeds that are ready to be set free.
It's enough to make me want to grow an entire field of dandelions.

You know my love of all things dandelion. We found a field of wishers recently and I predict many trips back. :)
My first-born's love of those, and the fact that he recently picked me a whole bouquet of the yellow ones (!), makes me not hate the fact that our backyard is filled up with them this spring. :) Sigh, kids...
We have a field, behind our pool, that she is more than welcome to blow thru, with us ;)
Lily picked her first today.
It was magical.
Care to bring your kid by our house so she can be my excuse to our neighbors as to why we suck at lawn care? :)
I love how kids remind us that Happy can be so easy. Dandelions have always been a favorite flower because that's what they stand for to me - Happier, Easier Times. I hope that never changes for Alexis!
{{ sigh }} I love dandelions.
Lovely post.
this is why alexis is my friend.
