Step by Step, Baby
Well, hello there.
HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES?
She who is absolutely convinced there is no need for her to walk has had a few lapses in judgement. Just a few, mind you, but look at me managing to get video of one of those lapses in judgement.
Do you want to guess how long it took to get that video? If you're guessing over an hour, you're on the right track. Now double your guess, carry the three, multiply it by seven, and you'll be there. Poor Alexis was charged with standing at the starting line. Poor Alexis suffered through Mila instantly sitting down instead of walking approximately 2353259320583 times.
For what it's worth, this whole WALKING! thing started yesterday. It started because we were at an event with some friends and those friends tricked her into walking a few times. What kind of friends trick a baby? Good ones, of course. The best, even.
Also worth noting, there was a crowd there the first time Mila walked more than five steps. A legit crowd. Each and every person there is a social media-type person who cherishes his or her smart phone. And, yet, not a single person pulled out a camera. Instead, everyone turned, watched, and then cheered. So, bite me old ladies who say that people who love their phones like I do don't know how to live in the moment. We lived in that moment just fine.
And then I spent over an hour trying to recreate it. So.
As for the prediction that Mila would start walking just when it most inconvenient for me, I was wrong. I failed to note that she also likes screwing with the husband. What better way to screw with him than to be walking when I go out of town for a few days?
He's in so much trouble.
