The Nag That Wasn't

As I clicked the "Confirm Order" button, I repeated the words in my head over and over. I will not nag. I will not nag. I will not nag.

I meant it. I had full intentions of purchasing the chandelier, letting it get delivered, and waiting patiently for the husband to install it.

Patiently. Without nagging.

It started out easy enough. I might have taken a photo of the giant box the chandelier sat in, but I most certainly did not say anything about anybody stopping what they were doing to hang it up. True story. I didn't say a word.

I also didn't say a word as I assembled the chandelier, purchased light bulbs for it, and moved it just a little bit closer to its destination. That was week two.

Week three brought many urges to jump aboard my Nagasawki and start throwing a hissy fit, but I resisted! I patted myself on the back as I asked the internet for electrician recommendations and texted them to the husband. For the record, texting your husband electrician recommendations is not nagging. It's being helpful. In a passive-aggressive way. Thus, much patting of my back happened. Go me! No nagging!

As time went on AND ON, I realized something--Not nagging wasn't getting me anywhere. But still! I persisted! I didn't nag. To be honest, I did it because I wanted to see just how long the universe was willing to push its luck. I cheerfully joked about turning the chandelier into a Christmas tree so that I could enjoy its pretty, but I didn't nag.

Someone saw things a little differently. "Would you (ahem) quit nagging me about the damn light?" That's not an exact quote, but it's pretty darn close.

"I have not nagged you once. Not yet. You have no idea what fun it's going to be when I do start nagging," I promised.

The light was hung the very next day.

It's a shame, really. I was looking forward to doing wheelies aboard my Nagasawki. Naaaag! Naaaaaaaaaaaaaag! Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag!

At least you didn't had to nag, and the light was hung, I call that a victory.

I would too because I almost have to scream (ok I do scream) to get anything done. Congrats!
