The Glamorous Life of a Disney Princess
I didn't have Barbies growing up. Nor did I care. I wouldn't have known what to do with them, other than to rip off their heads and throw them in the back of the closet. That's what tomboys do, you know.
You would think that the resident girlie girl would know what to do with them. She wanted them. I found a set of 6 on clearance at Target for $17, so she got them. And yet, the only thing they ever do is sleep. Face down. On the floor.
They might have been better off in a tomboys house.

Barbies were never safe around our house growing up. My sister had a huge collection, and I vaguely remember shaving quite a few of their head, drowning a couple in the creek, and there may have been an incident with the oven . . .
E has one, and that hussy is constantly naked, lounging around in the most obscene places and positions. My favorite use for her thus far though - letting the kid whip her out of my purse, buck naked, in the middle of church and dancing her around on my MIL's lap. Good for a smirk on my end every time.
At least they still have their clothes on, like good Disney Princesses. :)
@Roger--Um, yeah. Not so much. Apparently the first thing a Disney Princess does after waking from a nap is get nekkid.
@Jayna--I once walked into daycare in the midst of Barbie hour. Picture 25 or so nekkid Barbie dolls tossed haphazardly into a pile, some missing limbs, and all with bad hair. It was a bit . . . scary. We'll go with scary.
I hated that wench growing up. The only good thing I ever did with a Barbie was give her a swirlie. Unfortunately she didn't flush completely out of sight.
Maybe Cody will decide that Barbie is delicious.
I had one Barbie. She had a fuzzy pink sweater and went on dates with imaginary boys in the dryer. I was a weird kid. :)
Kathryn hates Barbies! Well really, any dolls. Won't play with Polly Pockets, not a fan of dress up. The 4th girl and I have to buy her all new toys because all she wants to do is build with legos, blocks and tinkertoys.
i loved them growing up. LOVED them, and yet when I think back, I too can't remember what I did with them. Once they are dressed, what do you do?
That's slightly disturbing. More so if they were naked, but still.
Well, duh. They were on clearance because all they do is sleep. :)
oh, i was in fact, a very very very big lover of the barbies.
my biggest problem: shoes. i could never find "the other one." I imagine a big pile of barbie shoes some place....lost & forgotten.
....and, I wanted to change their clothes every 13 seconds, but it was too hard.I was constantly taking them to my mom to change their clothes. I imagine she was very excited when I finally was able to do it myself....
I was going to say at least they have their clothes on, right now in Little Miss' closet there are somewhere near 30 Barbies, all nekkid, napping in a huge tub. She doesn't play with them, but she won't get rid of them either. I hate Barbie.
Morgan has the same dolls. They spend more time nekkid in a bathtub from her doll house than they do doig their Princess-ish duties.
Awesome.
Here's what happens to Barbies at our house:

It's funny, in a grown up, pervy kind of way.
My daughter played with Barbie once in a while, but she was more interested in dinosaurs.
My girls got the snow white barbie from someone that did NOT know my girls for christmas. Yours are even better off...snow white is under the couch playing with the dust bunnies here.
My girls didn't start playing with them ... now, a week doesn't go buy without them spending at least an hour with their dolls.
They are 6 & 7.
This is exactly what my girls did at Alexis' age.
Well, at least they are gorgeous while they're "sleeping!" I'm sure she'll play with them more as she gets older. Or not.
I am disturbed by that picture.
@Tornado--CRAP. I don't "get" the Barbie thing and was kinda sorta hoping it was going to go away. STAT.
At least their hair is nice. Every doll Laura owns looks deranged and demented because of the wild hair that mysteriously develops within 24 hours of purchase.
HA! Maggie does the same thing with her baby dolls- puts them face down "sleeping". hehe
Uh, yeah...I was a total Barbie girl. But my Barbies never slept. They were always too busy shopping, trying on new clothes, going on dates with Ken, picking on Skipper and going horseback riding. But, I guess that's the difference between Barbie and Disney Princesses. Maybe the Princesses need more sleep and leave the other stuff to the non-princess people?
Haha, well, at least they are safe, which they wouldn't be at many other homes! (No Barbies for me, either, nor did I want any.)
I was so not a girly girl, but I loved, loved my Barbies.
I still have the origional Barbie, Ken, Midge and Skipper.
I'm amazed I didn't sell her in college for drinking money!! I probably would have if I would have known she was worth money.
Barbie is turning 50 this year ya' know? Us 50 somethings need our sleep.
lol! It looks like the Barbies are involved in a bank robbery? Hilarious! I love how toddlers line everything up so nicely. Cracks me up!
At our house, they are usually sleeping naked. And yes, sometimes they are found naked with Ken! Watch out for him, he is a sneaky one!
Barbies definitely suck ... though you gotta love the fact that they have a Brazilian wax job. Oh - worst thing hands down about Barbies is the plastic shoes. There are a gazillion shoes, and they all get lost, I'm sure. I actually HAD Barbies as a kid but didn't play with them. I do know enough to know that $17 for a set of 6 is a good deal, though. Hawt.
in my day, you only had ONE barbie. and lots and lots of clothes.
6 for $17? great deal, but 6?
sigh.
Moo has those dolls. They are lovingly cared for because they represent her and her friends.
Except Snow White. We hate her.
You know that Moo is 17, right?
Hilarious...Now I gotta go to Target and find this for Miss Peach:P
