Mine don't really sleep side ways, but they DO kick and punch for about three solid hours in the middle of the night. Good thing hubby doesn't come to bed until 5:00 am, or he'd have to wear a cup.
Can I just say that I really like your bed? I want an iron one.
I've had to sleep in the same bed as the 5 yo a lot lately for various reasons and he is a CRAZY sleeper too. I woke up with one of his feet on my face one morning. Lovely.

Perpendicular sleeping is my least favorite thing about toddlerdom.
That, and the boogers wiped on my clothes.
I know how you feel. I'm still going through this with my 6 yr old who jumps into my bed often.
What the heck is up with the perpendicular sleepers? Laura does the same thing.
:-)
ha! I was one of those kids. My parents dreaded me sleeping in their bed. plus I spin like a top. Alexis is clearly my long lost partner in bedhogging
As it should be ...
We NEVER had out kiddos sleep with us. Mr. Hallisicle wouldn't have HIS SPACE violated. :)
Not even a tiny wiener dog is allowed in.

That is hysterical! Luckily, ours have never done this. PHEW!
