Amish Beards, Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal, and a Giveaway! (CLOSED)
It took 20 years and way more money than I'm willing to acknowledge, but I think I have finally done it. I think I have finally found the right combination of treatments to control my acne.
*cue angels singing*
You guys, I can't even tell you how happy this makes me. I've been battling acne since my teen years. Never severe acne, just constant, unrelenting, scar-leaving acne. It has always been enough to make me just short of insane. But it's mostly gone now! Hooray!
Of course, there's always a catch. ALWAYS.
Just as the acne mostly disappeared, and the scars started to fade, I noticed something. It's been there all along, but it wasn't all that prominent since there were other more obvious issues with my face.
I have an Amish beard, y'all.
Most my face is covered with fine blond hair. It's not terribly noticeable to most people, but I notice it. I NOTICE IT.
We won't discuss all the times I've used scissors to trim MY FREAKIN' AMISH BEARD. We won't talk about how I may have "accidentally" placed some pore strips in odd places to get rid of some of MY FREAKIN' AMISH BEARD.
All I'm going to admit is that when BlogHer contacted me and asked if I would be interested in trying New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo, I couldn't possibly type, "Yes, please" fast enough.
The New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo showed up in my mailbox and was promptly escorted to my bathroom. Immediately. Do not pass go, do not pause to pet the cat, just go get rid of the Amish beard, please!
I followed the directions (of course) and started by applying the Skin Guarding Balm. Then I put on the cream. I waited eight minutes, wiped the product off with a cotton ball and . . .
No more Amish beard! Hooray!
I didn't notice any sort of skin irritation, so it was a gentle solution that took less than ten minutes total. That's way better than any of the alternatives.
BlogHer and New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo have given me the gift of an Amish beard-free face, and now they want to give a little something to you. Leave a comment below to be eligible to win a $50 gift card.
Just tell me one thing you do as part of your beauty routine to express your inner beauty.

I like doing exfoliating treatments, especially as I get older!
I always use Neutrogena Oil Free face wash to make me feel clean. I'm still trying to get down the right acne treatment all together...I'm happy for your success!
I use lotion on a daily basis & spread the word. Everyone should know what lotion does- it works wonders!

I try to use the most natural makeup lightly so I don't look so made up.

I express my inner beauty with my hair! My hair style can usually tell you what kind of day I'm having or how I'm feeling inside. A big fun up-do is a fierce day. A low simple bun is a demure day. And my hair down and wild is a crazy-out-of-my-way day!

OMG - I'd love to try this for what I call my stray "hag whiskers" that show up at times on my chin... part of my beauty routine is inspecting for and/or plucking them out! lol
I use pore strips on my nose and clean my face with St Ives mask

being as natural as possible! Just a little lip gloss and mascara!
I always make sure I remove make up before I go to bed.
I always moisturize and brush my teeth. =)
Oh! And also check for random chin hairs. I think I might have to look into this product.
I always use sunscreen!
Take a shower daily. Seriously. As a SAHM, it's not a given or a guarantee that I will fit one in every day. But I am much more pleasant to be around after I've had my shower! :)

I have rosacea so I have to have a simple routine. And always wear sunscreen. Having a simple routine is basically me from the inside out. I am a simple person no frills.

i recently tried the oil cleaning method (ocm) - i am still on the fence about it, but how natural (not burning, scraping, tingling) my skin feels after doing it is a major +

I feel your facial hair agony! My husband is notorious for pointing out the little thicker-than-normal hairs that pop up on the underside of my chin!
always moisturize, and i also fight the unwanted facial hair.......havent gotten a beard quit yet..LOL
I live in and have worked in a poor urban community where women routinely wear their pajamas in public. It always amazed me how downtrodden and tired they look. When I lost my job, I vowed to get dressed every day (even though I wasn't going anywhere that I needed to be presentable) and put on some mascara. It makes me feel more motivated and like I am being my best self.

I drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep
I give myself a facial once a month
I try to smile

I get my eyebrows waxed on a monthly basis.
I use Fake Bake tanning spray instead of going to a tanning bed. I eat as many fruits/veggies as I can & drink lots of H20, leaves my face with a natural glow. That's a huge deal for me being Italian, I love having my skin a beautiful light brown that glows especially when it tends to get pale during the winter. This is very important to me. Now it's another story for the facial hair, I could write a ten page story on that! :)
I like to put on a lot of lotion to make my skin look healthy. Thanks for the review and giveaway.
