Amish Beards, Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal, and a Giveaway! (CLOSED)
It took 20 years and way more money than I'm willing to acknowledge, but I think I have finally done it. I think I have finally found the right combination of treatments to control my acne.
*cue angels singing*
You guys, I can't even tell you how happy this makes me. I've been battling acne since my teen years. Never severe acne, just constant, unrelenting, scar-leaving acne. It has always been enough to make me just short of insane. But it's mostly gone now! Hooray!
Of course, there's always a catch. ALWAYS.
Just as the acne mostly disappeared, and the scars started to fade, I noticed something. It's been there all along, but it wasn't all that prominent since there were other more obvious issues with my face.
I have an Amish beard, y'all.
Most my face is covered with fine blond hair. It's not terribly noticeable to most people, but I notice it. I NOTICE IT.
We won't discuss all the times I've used scissors to trim MY FREAKIN' AMISH BEARD. We won't talk about how I may have "accidentally" placed some pore strips in odd places to get rid of some of MY FREAKIN' AMISH BEARD.
All I'm going to admit is that when BlogHer contacted me and asked if I would be interested in trying New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo, I couldn't possibly type, "Yes, please" fast enough.
The New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo showed up in my mailbox and was promptly escorted to my bathroom. Immediately. Do not pass go, do not pause to pet the cat, just go get rid of the Amish beard, please!
I followed the directions (of course) and started by applying the Skin Guarding Balm. Then I put on the cream. I waited eight minutes, wiped the product off with a cotton ball and . . .
No more Amish beard! Hooray!
I didn't notice any sort of skin irritation, so it was a gentle solution that took less than ten minutes total. That's way better than any of the alternatives.
BlogHer and New Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo have given me the gift of an Amish beard-free face, and now they want to give a little something to you. Leave a comment below to be eligible to win a $50 gift card.
Just tell me one thing you do as part of your beauty routine to express your inner beauty.

Pick me, please!
Please follow-up in about 10 days with how things look/feel then. Much more important than day 1 results.
Thanks!
I get my eyebrows and lip waxed routinely, but would love to try something for in between touch ups!
Even if I'm not going anywhere where I have to be "presentable" (after all, babies don't care!) I always brush my hair and put a little gel in it. I have curly hair that loves to frizz, so just doing a simple style that shows off what I like about my hair and soothes what I don't goes a long way to making me feel good about the day. :)
I exfoliate with baking soda :)
A daily beauty routine I do to express my inner beauty is to keep my nails polished.
The best thing for my inner and outer beauty is sleep. Without sleep I am not the best person .
I never, ever, ever, ever go out in public without lipstick on, preferably red, but burgundy will do in a pinch. I feel naked without it. I can't wear makeup because I have such sensitive skin but I can wear lipstick, so I do it with gusto!
I always remove my makeup before going to sleep, no matter how late or tired I am.
I use lots of moisturizer and sunblock year round

Every few weeks, I go to a spa to have any unwanted hair removed. It's costly and I'd rather do it myself at home. I'd love to give this a try.

Thanks
I've had to start using tweezers so that I don't get a soul patch on my chin. Hate that. Makes me feel old.
i moisturize. man, lotion is key!
my amish beard isn't too totally terrible, but i am still considering this just in case i can't see it the way my aunt who is 90 can't see hers. tell me how this is in a week or two, please?
i wear lots of sunscreen each day so i age gracefully!:)

I moisturize to keep my skin smooth when I smile (to express my inner beauty)
I come from a long line of bitter, angry, and mildly to moderately moustached women. I used to use hair remover, until I started getting nasty! chemical burns. Now, I shave the 'stache (tried plucking and OWWWWWWWWWWWWW!) and pluck the chin/beard hairs. The gray ones are getting harder to see to pluck, although I can still feel 'em. Oh, and the tweezers need to be the exact ones that actually work, or my hand cramps well before I can get all of them. Beauty hurts.
My inner beauty routine is to laugh and at myself mostly. I try not to take life so seriously.
I use lots of moisturizer

just try to be kind and do as much service as I can. If I feel good on the inside I usually look good on the outside :)

I try to play more with the kids, which gets me laughing, which lowers my stress, which makes me pretty inside and out!
I, too, have been fighting unwanted facial hair. Thanks to the genetic contributions of maternal and paternal ancestors I've been bleaching and/or waxing many parts of my face for about a decade. This isn't always kind to sensitive skin. Thanks for trying this out!
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!!
First off, lies. I don't notice your facial hair. BUT, I have this one hair, under my chin, that grows out of a mole. And it didn't really show much until I gained all this weight and got a double chin and OMG, NOW I HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT HAIRY ALL THE TIME.
Ahem.
But if you don't notice the scars on my cheek, I don't notice your hairy face. The end.
Love you.
i use SPF to protect my inner beauty!!

To express my inner beauty? Being to lazy to put makeup on approximately 360 days a year. Works like a charm! :)
The best thing I can do for both my looks and mood is get lots of sleep! Beyond that, I'm terrible at staying hydrated so I walk around with a water bottle all day to make myself drink enough water. And I like to wear bows/flowers in my hair, especially during the summer.
Like lots of other people, I moisturize. A lot.
I am glad you did this review as I am also sporting an Amish beard. The difference? Mine is dark brown. Yay me.
get lots of sleep
I don't use a lot of makeup. I'm ok with how I look naturally. I think a smile is the best way to show that inner beauty.

I moisturize daily and use products with SPF to shield from harmful sunrays.
