Baby Shell > Rebecca
"Mom, can I take a doll with us to the Science Center?" Alexis asked.
Thinking that maybe, just maybe, she may choose to acknowledge Rebecca's existence, I agreed.
Of course it was wishful thinking. She opted to drag her dingy old Baby Shell instead. You know, the doll that came from Wal-Mart a kajillion years ago.
I'm kind of glad she picked Baby Shell. If she hadn't, I might not have gotten to chuckle every time I looked around and saw this:
And now I remember why I always tell the kid "No" when she asks to take toys with her places. She NEVER carries them. Heh.

PRICELESS.
We NEVER let our daughter bring stuff. It is forgotten within seconds and then we're stuck with it. Carrying around baby dolls isn't my idea of a good time. But it is awfully cute to see hubbies doing it. :)
So glad to read about the return of Baby Shell. I've missed her!
Oh my... his expression is priceless.
Oh that's beautiful. Next time make him wear the pink sweatshirt, too.
love it!
Heh. Love it!
Now, if you had just tricked him into holding your purse it would be even more perfect.
People do a doubletake and ask if it's a real baby when I'm out carrying one of my daughter's dolls. Really? Do they look that realistic?
Yay! Baby Shell is alive and well!!
But...the real question....are YOU?! ;)
You know, the problem is that I read all of your posts on google reader so I rarely comment anymore. I'm sorry. I'm still around haven't stopped being around I just started to be a sucky commenter.
I too am glad that Baby Shell is still around but I'd be pretty ticked about the expensive doll going unloved! lol
Thanks for all you share! I love the photography post as I am starting to experiment.
If Emily had her way,she would take every single thing she owns with her everywhere she goes. And - like Alexis - not carry them. Just wait until she shows up at your house with her giant Justice suitcase packed full of crap.
Delurking a few days late.
Love your pictures and descriptions of life with a 4-year-old. That is several years behind me and I miss it at times.
I found you through Can't Get There From Here. I don't have a blog because I am too busy reading other people's blogs.
I'm also delurking several days late. I found your blog through That's Church and vey much enjoy your comments and lovely photos. And I wanted to tell you this awhile ago- if your daughter ever acknowledge's Rebecca's existence, the Junior League of Pittsburgh does as its annual fundraiser an American Girl Fashion Show in the fall. A very nice event for a good cause and girls can also be models in the shows and wear the costumes, etc. The website is www.jlpgh.org.
