Delurking Day. Just Because.
It has been . . . well . . . aw, hell, just get off my blogging lawn, whippersnappers. It has been a long time since I did this:
No reason for that. I just haven't done it. Until now!
So, like, a lot of you stop here every once in a while, but only a few of you leave comments. I'm not here to tell you what you have to do, except for maybe I am. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE? Delurk yourselves, please and thank you! I just want a chance to learn a little bit about who the people are in my neighborhood . . . in my neighborhood . . . in my neigh-bor-hoood. (You're welcome for the ear worm.)
Anyway, leave a comment just this once and I'll love you for a very long time. While you're at it, leave me a link to a blog you like or your own blog or whatever. I kinda sorta deleted Google Reader a few days ago, so I may need some reading material at some point in time.
PLEASE? And THANK YOU!

I'm so not a lurker. But I'm loving reading:
http://unicornpara.de/ - One of my oldest Interwebz friends. Older even then @cfd46.
http://www.arizona-writer.com - Crazy awesome photography, good writing.
http://www.quietfish.com/ - Where I got the Advent calendar idea, generally awesome blog.
And others. But those are the first two that pop to mind right now.
Hi, my name is Melissa and I am lurker. I found your blog through That's Church and even though I don't live in Pittsburgh (so not technically in your neighborhood), I have been a reader ever since. I live in Santa Rosa, CA (about an hour north of San Francisco). Nice to meet (??) you!
Totally not a lurker either but hello anyway!
And I am never ever above pimping out my Hubby's blog because I think he is brilliant and stuff.
www.crankcrankrevolution.com
Sometimes he writes boring stuff about politics like he did today. Other times he writes ridiculous stories about what goes on in our house, and those. are. the. best.
I'm still a frequent reader, dudette!
Come read my blog! You'll like it! I promise! Come laugh at the pictures of my children!!!
Its rare for me to get blog comments, but im happy ppl read it. I know by my stats. I wish ppl would comment more, but im not good at commenting either. I need to work on that.
Thanks for leaving me a comment yesterday :)
Oh hai, I don't think we've...nevermind. Just me. Still here, doing that thing I do, over where I usually do it!
i had better get back to writing if i have to link you to my blog!
happy day.
BOOOO!
I scared ya with my delurking!!!
:-)
I'm an occasional commenter here, but I do love to lurk on your photography blog. I can't wait until I've finished saving up for my DSLR so I can put even more of your tips to good use, so: because I haven't said so before, even though I should have: thank you!!
It's just me, Burghpotpie. I don't comment, because I don't comment, I guess.
I think I delurked a year or two ago...anyway, I have a now 3 year old girl and reading about your family really helps me figure out what is about to happen next (I know, I know, the little whackadoodles don't actually all follow the same track but it gives me a general idea of the next batch of lunacy headed my way). Sammie still says "L-ellow" but I know that someday she'll stop...see what I mean about prepping me for next steps? :) So, from Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA...have a great weekend and thanks for all you post!
I found your blog thru Make Room for Crazy. I live North of the city with the husband and the 21 month old kid, so I could be near your neighborhood. Your blog inspires me to write down (and take pictures) of what's going on with the little guy.
I love that you're calling out your lurkers (me included...)! I rarely leave comments on blogs I read because I sometimes feel like I'm commenting to thin air and don't think the bloggers ever really see it. Anyway, I was introduced to your blog by someone at work because she loved your "snark". I don't know about snark, but I do love reading about Alexis' adventures in Pittsburgh.
Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a total lurker. My name is Sarah and I found you through That's Church. I think about commenting every now and then but then realize that you have no idea who I am and who am I to comment on your life...
But in the spirit of Delurking Day, here I am. I don't have my own blog but one of my best friends has a food blog (that has stalled because she's in her third year of law school) that I rely on for dinner frequently. She's got all my favorites from when we we roommates on there.

Happy Delurking Day!
I'm Kristin - a mostly-lurker, occasional commenter, and wanna-be-photographer.
Found your site through a link on That's Church, which was (and still is) one of my favorite ways on keeping up with goings-on back in the 'Burgh. I'm a former long-term Pittsburger now living in Indy, so I also enjoy following your tweets back and forth with both Ginny and MooshInIndy, who I also follow.
I have a few different blogs, none of which I'm very good at updating:
http://insearchofabetterself.wordpress.com/
http://klalawramblings.blogspot.com/
http://reflectionsbykristin.blogspot.com/
I'm a lurker in every sense of the word.
Always love you, friend!
Don't you just love delurking day? I'm here, just not vocal much. Time is such a rare commodity nowadays.
Hello from Richmond, VA! In fact, today is my one-week anniversary of living in Virginia. Dear Pittsburgh, please find a job for me there so I can come back in 6 months.
I occasionally comment, but mostly read. :)
I mostly connect on twitter via stephanieg143.
Five dollar you love me long time?
I mean...one comment, you love me long time? Happy endings?
Oh, wait.
Sorry. Don't know where my mind is at *wipes gutter muck off shoes*
I lurk daily, then I like to make smartass comments on twitter. That's just how I roll!
Your blog inspires me to (almost) start a blog every day. Then I get busy with work and kids and then I forget. So there. I am officially delurked!
I be here, home skillet.
HI! I'm here almost every day and I usually comment because, well, I can rarely keep my mouth shut. But even when I don't comment, I ALWAYS read.
Let me think about my favorite places to vist but to start I would visit the Organizing Junkie on Mondays and look for the Vegetarian links because I know you said you wanted to start cooking more as a, uh, New Year's goal. orgjunkie.com - sorry I don't know how to put it as a link I don't think. Plus, you're smart. You can cut and paste.
Hi--my name is Katie and I lurk your blog. My husband's family is from Pittsburgh, and I think I was doing a blog search for something Pittsburgh related (probably Steelers) and found your site.
We live in Georgia, and I probably visit every day.
I comment occasionally... my reader has a lot of knitting blogs. I am not sure it translates well to non-knitters.
I found your blog a month or two ago through That's Church. I'm a grad student at Pitt with my own children many many years away, but I love your photography and hearing about Alexis!
As for blogs: Check out http://crepesofwrath.net. Most of her recipes are a little above my cooking level, but her desserts can be tweaked a bit easier and the photos are so gorgeous.
Blogs are dumb.
I hope I don't qualify as a lurker... I comment sometimes! I tweet sometimes too ;) At any rate, I loooove your blog. Yours and Ginny's, primarily (I found yours through hers) -- I love love love getting to hear (read?) about all the wonderful things that seem to be associated with oh so adorable Alexis...and Pittsburgh too, of course... I like to think of myself as someone who holds dual citizenship - I'm not from the Burgh, but my family is, so I spent a LOT of my early childhood there, and still go back as often as I can... Anyway, yeah, delurked! :D
I read your blog everyday. Alexis reminds me of when our Caity was small...she's 13 now :(
I am So much a lurker (is that a word?). I live on Katy Tx, don't remember how I stumbled on your blog. I don't even have one. But I do stop by daily just because I enjoy your adventures and stories SO.
I admit I am a lurker. I hardly comment on blogs. I don't know why because I LOVE to get comments...lol I should really fix that. Anywho, I love your blog and HI from Florida :)
Not a lurker, more of a stalker. Happy Delurker Day.
I've commented before, so I guess I'm not really a lurker, but I wanted to share my other blog, Grandpa's Darkroom: http://grandpasdarkroom.wordpress.com/
When you get tired of reading all those other blogs, come on by and look at some cool old pictures!
You are doing a great thing for Alexis by keeping this blog. I wish I could get my mom to blog or something..Thank you for sharing the Burgh with the world through your daughter's eyes.
Hi! I'm a lurker here, too, so I guess I'll de-lurk. I found you through That's Church, and since I have you in my Google Reader feed, I read just about every day. I love your stories and your pictures are lovely. And I'm also developing a love affair with Pittsburgh, so I like that aspect of it, too. I moved here about 5 years ago and bought a house in Squirrel Hill last April. I blog, but mainly about food...though when I start a family, I'd like to do something like what you're doing. I guess you could say it's somewhat of an inspiration! :)
Thanks for sharing your stories and pictures with us. <3
I've gotta try one of these Delurker Days... I got someone from Anchorage AK that reads almost every day, but never comments. I'm dying of the curiosity.
I can't believe you deleted your google reader.
Hello, my name is Laura, and I am a lurker. I am a stay at home Mom of two kids (girl 9, boy 4) and I live in Az. I read your blog regularly; your posts are interesting. I adore your photography! I don't have a blog anymore, and that's probably why I don't comment on blogs more often. Can't explain the reasoning, but there you go. Normally, I would try to be a bit wittier, but I've been dealing with our health insurance company and they done drained the wittiness out.of.me.
Um...hi? I'm here. I think I've commented only once before but that might just be because I have a tendency to get really behind on my reading and then just...uh...don't comment.
OK, I'll come out of the lurking closet. I found your blog through That's Church. I used to live in Western Maryland, but right now I'm in Florida. I hope and pray everyday that I'll be able to move back North real soon and live in Pittsburgh. Your blog is just one little way for me to stay connected to the city I love and miss.
I am a total lurker, I have been for a while...I worked at scarehouse upstairs during the crazy scary event but thought it would be weird for me to be like omg hai...my derby name is bonecrusher I generally am covered in glitter
Hi! I'm Sheila and I'm a regular lurker. I lived in the Burgh for a few years and really miss it. Now I live in Southeastern Michigan and help coordinate a local blog for families with young kids: LenaweeGreatStart.org/blog. My "little one" is now 11 and I love reliving those younger days through blogs like yours. Have a great weekend!
Hey Brat ;-)
Love you.
:-)
I'm not a lurker... But I feel like I should comment here... even though my parents and sister know who you are, know you are behind Christmas Crazy (both the gifting and the lights) and know of A. And the fam loves it all :-)
I'll put something here later, when I think of something good.
I'm not a lurker, yet feel the need to replenish your reader. Fav new blog that you might love? http://www.bystephanielynn.com/ Great DIY decorating, and I LOVE her stuff. So easy. So inexpensive. Look at her sidebar, the best of her ideas and others.
Hi, my name is Lisa. I'm way more fun and outgoing online than I am in person. My hobbies include long walks on the beach at suns...oh wait, you know all this. Have a wonderful evening. *HUUUUUGGGSS* Because I know how much you love hugs.
I've commented infrequently and lurk more. As a native Pittsburgher, I just love reading your blog and the things like "Crazy" that you do. And maybe it's nice to read what it's like to have a kid…
Hello, its me. Not exactly a lurker but not a frequent commenter either. I read you on Google reader so I'm not sure if or how I show up in stats but I read regularly.
I started a blog at the end on 2010 as part of my bucketlist. Part of that whole "cancer runs in my family so who knows how long I have tick tock tick tock" thing we were talking about yesterday. I also know by my stats ppl are reading but hard to get comments. I like comments. Not sure I like the one sided-ness of blogging, but we'll see.
Wow, yinz should marvel at the lack of typos and moderate coherancy of this being that I typed on my evil evo. ;)
Hi! I am not a lurker, but I feel the need to comment. I read your blog just about everyday. I check my reader just before I go to bed, and you usually have your new post up.
