In Search of Balance and a Few Good Hair Days
When you’ve had one baby, you think you know all of the apparently top-secret things that happen after a new little person comes into your life. I say “top-secret” because everybody talks about the lack of sleep and around-the-clock feedings, but they fail to mention a few things. For example, I found out about the sexy mesh underwear after Alexis was born. I had no idea up until then.
So when Mila was born, I thought I knew what came next.
Go ahead. Laugh at me. I KNOW.
It took me a while to figure out that this time was different. I should have seen it, but I was busy figuring out how to survive in this fantastic new world of two kids, so I didn't. Months went by and I didn't catch on that pregnancy gives you great hair. After, though? OH.
I didn’t notice it with Alexis. While I did know people who had talked about their hair not seeming as great after pregnancy, it just didn’t occur to me that I could experience the same thing. But it wasn’t just a “post-pregnancy” thing, I was compounding the issue because of my lack of… well… I wasn’t exactly being a healthy human being at the time.
After Mila was born, I had 70 pounds to lose. I had lots of chaos with trying to figure out how to balance two kids who were in dramatically different places in life. And, on top of it all, I had lots of stuff happening at work. It’s possible that I was basically living off of caffeine.
Whoops.
I’m still working to establish a more balanced lifestyle. I’m doing better with eating balanced and juggling time. Another thing I have done to sort of build the foundation for getting it together is to start taking vitafusion™ Hair, Skin & Nails Supplement.
It’s easier to have shiny, happy, healthy hair if you’re getting the vitamins and minerals necessary to support healthy hair.* I’ve tried this route before but this time I might actually be able to keep it up because vitafusion™ products taste good and don’t require water. Convenience is my best friend. And so are these two crazy little people.

I know it's sort of minor, but I found a coffee tumbler that is also a french press, so now I can be brewing my coffee while walking to the bus stop and that saves me a whole 3 extra minutes in the morning (and the time it take to clean a coffee pot)! I love that little time saving magic container of caffeine goodness :)

My little convenience - prep work! Anything I can ahead of time - I do. I set the table for breakfast the night before. Ditto for getting out vitamins, signing homework, any prep I can do for making lunch. 10 minutes saved means extra time for life's little disasters and occasionally we even get in some playtime before school. Win win in my book. : )
I try to get everything set out or packed up the night before. It works better some days than others but every little bit helps.
Setting my clothes out the night before helps a lot. I also recently rearranged my morning schedule to accodate me and not my dogs. So I sleep until 5:45, instead of 5:00AM, get up, shower and then I do lunches. Instead of lunches and then shower. Its much easier to make lunches when I can think.
Lately my 12 year old son has made things very convenient for me! He has started vacuuming and doing dishes, and he does so happily.

Heating up leftovers for meals makes life convenient, as well as my dishwasher, in which I try to wash everything that is possible.

Kids at just the right age to think helping around the house is fun!
My slow cooker!!
What makes my life convenient is getting up early before everyone else does, and getting all the breakfast items ready and taking time for myself by reading the paper and drinking a cup of coffee! Also having the lunches and clothes out the night before and having the backpacks by the door helps make my life easier!

Picking out clothes for work the night before makes my life SO much more convenient. It also allows for a few extra minutes of sleep in the mornings which is mever a bad thing!
I had nothing, until Diva was brought home to be Cyber Schooled. Now that she has more time at home, she helps me out with what needs to be done around the house and that is a blessing. Cyber school has brought us all less chaos.
Keeping a stash of Costco cheese tortellini (from the fresh area) in the freezer for nights when making dinner is just too crazy.
I recently moved back into the city and I find it very convenient to have most of I what I need in walking distance of my house. I walk home form work and can stop by the library, store, diner, ice cream shop, even a bar or state store if I needed. (Not all on the same day of course!)
I set kids clothes out the night before. Saves time in the morning.
Making and freezing meals!
Life gets more convenient when I leave the staples of my work lunch (bottle of soda, big bag of chips- very healthy, I know!) in my locker, and then I don't have to waste time buying them everyday. More convenient, and cheaper.
Freezer cooking makes my life more convenient.

I try to get things done ahead of time for any event. This makes it easier to finish up in time.
I put items away immediately after use. It takes a lot less effort than cleaning up piles of stuff later on.

Getting up earlier than everyone else makes things more convenient, so I can get things done or have time to myself.

I try to get things ready the night before to make it more convenient and less stressful for me in the mornings.
I feel so much better and life seems so much easier when I have a good nights sleep or even a nap if possible. Thanks so much.

Working from home has made life more convenient.
After giving up fast food for good (I haven't had any in over 100 days - woot!), I've found that planning ahead is the key to convenience and not falling prey to the lure of a quick hamburger & fries. It's much easier to shop for healthy lunches than it is to shop for bigger clothes! It's also pretty convenient to not have to leave work to go find a meal. Instead, it's right there in the fridge!
