Less Sleepy, Still Very Honey Badger with the Attitudes
It's too bad none of you bet me because you would have won.
May 18th came and went.
And so did May 19th.
For what it matters, May 20th came and went as well.
That's when the birds in our front yard turned two weeks old. It's also when I realized they are NEVER moving out.
By May 22, I'm pretty sure their mom was starting to wonder when they would get a job, a life, and move the hell out of her nest.
But they don't care. They aren't moving. EVER.
They don't even flinch when I take pictures. Which, for the record, I've been using my iPhone. I'm holding my phone no more than two inches from the crazy birds, and they don't care. They're staying. Forever.
I'm only slightly offended that they aren't scared of me, by the way.
That photo is May 24th. One of the birds is two weeks and four days old, the other three are two weeks and three days old.
They're going to live in their mother's basement FOREVER.
Though, they have come a long way since May 7th.

You know what's not fair? I can't even take photos that good with my ACTUAL camera and you're using your PHONE? Do you have a special app that makes you so fantastic or is it the software you process with? Or are you just that good? I need a better camera...
I have LOVED watching the progress of these baby birds. We had some new ones next door, but sadly, they were too independent to stay for the long haul. I'm glad yours are staying put!
Love this!
we had 4 baby birds, then we had 3. i watched the mama toss 2 out of the nest and yell at them to get moving. the other one is still in there. he must be her favorite.
i love birds.
:)
We have baby birds in the eave under our deck, and they've lost their funky fuzzy feathers and are starting to look like actual birds. The poor momma keeps squawking at me to get out from under my deck so she can go back to giving her (ginormous) babies worms.... well, that, or she's telling me I can keep them and she's done, lol. I seriously don't know how those birds still fit in that tiny nest!
