More Fairy Fun (And A Giveaway!)
If you haven't figured it out by now, perhaps now would be a good time to make it crystal clear: we take our fairies very seriously around these parts.
Exhibit A:
That's the original fairy garden, which has been joined by many more. In fact, there are at this very moment no less than six fairy houses in varying stages of magical fairieness. Alexis is OBSESSED. I'm absolutely 100% OK with that.
So, obviously, when we were given a chance to preview the new Tinkerbell movie, Secret of the Wings, I was all aboard the fairy train. Again. Toot toot!
The direct-to-video movie is the latest in the Disney Fairies franchise. It's coming out on Blu-ray and DVD October 23rd, but we got to watch it WAY early. The basic premise is that Tinker Bell wanders a bit too far from home and finds that her wings are sparkling like crazy. She can't handle not knowing why, so she goes on an adventure to the Winter Woods and eventually ends up discovering that she has a sister, Periwinkle. Periwinkle and Tinker Bell were apparently born of the same baby's laughter, but I think "Periwinkle" is named as a "wink" to what really happened.
Ahem.
Grown-ups will know what I'm talking about if they watch the movie. That's all I'm saying.
Alexis, of course, watched the movie completely enthralled with the new characters (who are gorgeous, by the way), the new scenery, and the new storyline. She fell in love with Periwinkle and quickly started brainstorming ways we can winterize our fairy gardens for the winter fairies who are surely preparing to move into our gardens. The first order of business is that I need to figure out how to make two matching winter coats and "pom pom boots" for the fairies. Alexis may not have a sister, but I guarantee if she did, she would insist on wearing matching clothes. She wants to live that fantasy through the magic of the fairy gardens.
I decided to ask Alexis a few questions about Secret of the Wings right after she finished watching it for the first time. Here’s what she had to say:
That's a thumbs up, just in case you were distracted by the ending and forgot what else she said.
If you would like a chance to win a "Flitterific Farries Blu-Ray™ Double Pack" (it's a Blue-Ray/DVD Combo), please leave a comment below telling me what you enjoy sharing with your sister if you have one, or what you would share with a sister if you don't. Alexis would absolutely vote for matching clothes. I'm so not kidding.

I have a sister and I enjoy sharing all our childhood jokes that have grown up along with us.
I never had a sister, only brothers. I always wanted to be able to gossip with one. Plus do eachothers hair. Matching clothes doesn't just happen with gir, my boys love to dress alike. I usually limit it to PJ's and they love it.
If I had a sister I would love sharing clothes with her. I love watching my girls sharing clothes. Granted...they also argue over clothes as well!

I have a sister. We shared a room, does that count? Honestly, we are on total opposite ends of almost every spectrum. The only thing we share now is a love (might loosely be translated as "obsession") of running. My girls, however, share way more than we did - probably because they're 2 years apart and we are nearly 11. We also share 2 brothers, just like my girls. ;)
I love sharing my sense of humor with my sister! She gets every nerdy, goofy joke I make and vise versa. She's seven years younger, so there really wasn't a lot in common to share till she got to about college age, but now she's awesome.
I "only" had a brother, but I have two girls who love sharing books. I thinks I would have enjoyed hanging out and sharing clothes with a sister for sure.
My sister and I always shared music; she was four years older, so I loved it if she taught me about a new band when we were growing up.
I have one sister and we are 5 years apart. We never fought over clothes or toys because by the time she wanted them, I was happy to give them to her. Now that we're grown we loving sharing recipes with each other.
You KNOW we want that movie in this house ;)
If I had a sister, I'd also want to share clothes. Alexis has the right idea there. I'm in constant need of style help.
I share everything with my sister...we love to be goofy and laugh about pretty much everything!
My sister & I are pretty much opposites, but we have always shared a love of music & reading.
i can't see the alexis video. sad.
no need to don't enter me into the contest...i'll watch the video with your kid so that some other child can win!
I have a sister but we literally share NOTHING. Well except maybe the beast. (The beast is aka the '94 Plymouth Voyager that I'm stuck driving post car accident of DOOM. It is white and ancient and has a wonky sliding door and taped on headlights and is generally beasty.)
I love traveling with my sisters. Road trips are the best!
I would share bed
If I had a sister I would have wanted to share secrets. It would have been nice to have a built in best friend in the family.
If I had a sister, I'd share the duties of hosting on the holidays and of passing along the history of our family. It may be a bit of a stereotype, but the men in my family just aren't as interested in these things.
I don't have a biological sister (just a stupid brother) - but I share a lot of things w/ the sister of my heart. We share faith, jewelry, and just about everything in between...most importantly I share my secrets with her. Because that's the best thing you can share with a sister :D
I hated my sister. She STOLE my clothes. I'm still bitter about a really cool big black belt she stole in 1985. But we are tight now. We are night and day so we would never have dressed alike.
I have 4 sisters and we are all best friends. I'm so thankful to God (and my parents) for them all!

I don’t have sisters of my own, but I do have twin daughters and I have seen unconditional love in them! That is what sisterhood means to me.

I enjoy sharing events of the day with my sister.
I like that we have so many stories that only she and I can share.
Sisterhood is having someone in your life who knows your secrets and has your back!!

My sisters and I have shared just about everything over the years. Clothes, interests, friends, stories of the past and present, the love for our family. It's pretty cool.
I don't have a sister, but I think I would enjoy long phone calls and daily emails. Just don't do that with my brothers.
I don't think my sister would enjoy wearing matching clothes, but I would have :) I do enjoy sharing recipes and some pinterest boards with her. We both love to bounce ideas off of each other!
