Mother Knows Best
Part of the Thou Shalt Wear the Jasmine Costume negations included a clause where Alexis would be permitted to wear her Ariel costume while we were at Disney World, just not for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. I managed to finagle that to being our last day there. In my mind, that was the PERFECT day because we would be at Epcot doing the leisurely pace thing and we would only be there for a few hours. That was important because I was convinced she would be miserable in that particular costume. It's tapered just below the knee, so the kid has a really hard time walking in it. Plus, it has a lot of layers and HAS to be hot.
I also agreed that I would princessify her hair because, well, obviously. I've known how for years, but pretend it's only possible while we're in Orlando. Anyway, I'm OK with admitting she looked pretty cute as Ariel.
In her cute state, she was all about telling me just how wrong I was that she wouldn't last in that costume. She fussed at me when she saw me stick a change of clothes in her backpack. She argued with me when I asked if she was still OK in her Ariel glory. She ripped my head off when I commented that she looked hot.
She lasted 30 minutes in the park before she admitted defeat and begged to change.

I am totally giggling because even though it just came out on Tuesday, I think we have already watched Tangled like 6 times, and every time we do, that song gets stuck in my head! At what age do kids actually start listening and taking into account the things that we tell them? Wait. Don't answer that. I don't think I want to know.
Teeheehee...sadly even if you show her this evidence that Mother Knows Best she will still fall for that bad boy on the motorcycle. They have to learn the lessons themselves.
Oh man, she looks great in the Ariel dress with the pink hair! But seriously, what isn't uncomfortably hot to wear in O-Town? You were totally right. Good call on the negotiating.
She looks adorable in that Ariel costume but dang! Could they have made it any more ill-fitting?! She looks much happier and more comfortable in her pink dress!
Lotso and Buzz!
And yes, she did look cute. But she looks even cuter in the second photo. Good job, Mom!
Doesn't she know that Ariel changes into a Real Girl (wait, wasn't that Pinnochio?) at the end of the movie?
Hi, I haven't stopped by in a long time, but have to say, aside from my granddaughter, who was born on my birthday last year, your Alexis isstill the most beautiful child I have seen on the net! And she is adorable in that Ariel costume. I am very glad you took that change of clothing for her, though.
