Pittsburgh PodCamp. You Should Go.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. The time of the year when I start pulling Halloween decorations out of the basement (Oh, yes. I did.). The time of the year when I cackle maniacally when I walk past the air conditioner because HA! I DON'T NEED IT! Most importantly, it's PodCamp time. Woooo!
Pittsburgh PodCamp, in case you are unaware, is a social media conference of sorts. It's for anybody who is interested in blogs, twitter, podcasts, facebook, anything social media-related. You don't have to be an expert to attend. In fact, it's almost better if you're not. Lots of smart people will be presenting on a huge variety of topics. Oh, and HOWDY! I'm a smart person! I'm presenting on Saturday, September 18th at 11:00 on how to come up with things to blog about on a semi-regular basis. You should be there. No, really. Somehow I ended up assigned to one of the big rooms and it would REALLY REALLY REAAAAALLLLY suck if it were empty.
One of the best parts of PodCamp is that it's free, so you should just run over to the site and register. Now. Go. Beat it! (Seriously. There is space still available, but not a ton of it.)
P.S. If you do go, please say, "Hi!" I'm a total dork at these sorts of things, so I need somebody to pretend they don't want to run the other way when they see me.
P.P.S. Since I've done both the BlogHer and PodCamp thing, I can now say with utmost honesty that I learned way more at PodCamp than I did at BlogHer. At the risk of getting in all sorts of trouble for having a big mouth, I'll just say that the theme of BlogHer presentations was sort of, "Hey! Look at me! I'm awesome!" while PodCamp is more, "Hey! Look at you! You can do this because you are awesome!" And now I'll shut up.
Until next Saturday.

I'm going and I will be at your session. Wouldn't miss it!
I'm going too (NERVOUS) and I plan to go to your session :D
i so want to go as i have been thinking about starting up a blog for about a year. alas my only weekend off this month i am assigned to family weekend at the army base :(. you will be awesome, i am very sad that i will miss it
Wait, now I'm confused. I thought this was in October. WE HAVE PLANS THAT DAY. I swear, it's just not meant to happen.
And as IF nobody would rush up to you the minute they saw you. You're iconic as far as bloggers in the Burgh go.
@Juli--Boooo! that you can't make it, but the good news is that sessions will be live-streamed and available recorded after the event is over.
Hubby and I are both going, so stoked, and I already promised PittGirl I would not act like too much of a fan girl, but with you, her, and Sue Kerr all there, it will be tough....
:( If I was anywhere within driving distance, you know I'd be there. (If only to make faces as you from the audience.)
I will be there, and I'm super excited for you session, because that's a big thing I have a problem with! I can't wait to get your insight :)
And if I'm not being a totally shy baby about it, I might even come up and say hello to you!
Sometimes it hurts so very much that I don't live in Pittsburgh anymore. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES!! *pouts*
I am nervously braving my fear of public and large groups of people to attend this year. I just signed up and I feel totally insane, haha. I'll be the one sitting in the back who, once your done, will hang my head and walk out the door as fast as I can. I'll probably wave on my way out. See you there.
I'll be there (and in your session if there's room). Can't wait!
