Hell Froze Over

If you hand me some pompoms and a short pleated skirt, odds are I'll starting chanting, "Snow! Snow! Goooo, snow!" Of course, I'll probably throw up if you actually make me touch pompoms and a short pleated skirt, but whatever. The point is I'm one of snow's biggest fans.

There is a rule to my dedication to Team Snow. The rule clearly states that Team Snow is only allowed to be in play between November and February. Once the calendar flips to March, I break up with snow faster than Joy Behar can say something pointless.

Often, I feel like I'm a One Man Snow Cheering Machine. I'm surrounded by people who think snow is a stupid poopface, to which I say, YOU LIVE IN PITTSBURGH. It snows in Pittsburgh. Every single year. If you live here, you should probably learn to like the snow. If you can't, MOVE SOUTH. Or shoosh. Or both.

The only thing is that after nearly two solid months with snow on the ground, a wicked storm that seems like it happened yesterday (technically the calendar says it has been a year since SnOMG, but I swear it seems like yesterday), and a strong desire to get started on some spring projects that I have plotted out in my head, I'M READY. Snow, be gone! Bring on the sun and 60 degrees! NOW!

I kind of want to punch myself for being impatient, but first I need to figure out if I can pay Phineas and Ferb to build a giant blowtorch that will abolish the snow that is currently falling on the city. I want to see the snow burn, dammit.

Alexis still likes the fluffy stuff, though. The little traitor.

Good news, though! It should all be gone tomorrow - 40+ degrees! THAT is the kind of snow I like: On the ground long enough to play in (School is canceled) and then gone so I can starting plotting which plants I'm going to kill this year...

I hear you - I'm never one to curse the winters in Pittsburgh, nor to ask for spring to come faster, or the snow to be gone...but this year? This week? I'm ready. I'm ready for it to be done and spring to come. If we had gotten the initial prediction of 1"-3", I'd probably be fine, but after shoveling and clearing cars three times in less than 12 hours, and then creeping along in traffic for almost an hour and a half this morning... I'm ready.

Snow be gone! (And my reasoning is mostly the same - I want to get going on some outside things that are impossible when snow is covering everything. Bah.)

I hope it will all melt this week! We're supposed to be back to almost spring.

Since I live in CO you would think that it would snow here. Yes it does a little, but I wish it would more. A big snow fall here is like 3 inches. I am praying for a huge snow fall. Snow is annoying to me when it does enough to slow down traffic, and cause accidents, but not enough to play in. So feel free to send that snow my way please.

Well, it iS pretty. :-)

Hey, does this mean you like Phineas and Ferb now? It was Swinter last week, after all!

I love snow too! And I'm so sick of people complaining about it.

I am looking forward to spring, but I don't have a deadline for our last snow. As long as it's SNOW and not ICE, which we often get.

My gripe was rarely with the snow...it was the relentless gray sky and the gray dirty snow that stuck around too long making for a gray landscape without relief for weeks on end. It was the days so cold that walking from the Mon Wharf to my office made me want to cry. But I loved the first couple of snows a year. I'm done with winter this year. Done. Sick of it. Over it.

@Michelle--Now that I've had time to think about it, I think what I'm really sick of is the whining about the snow. I really can't take much more of it, so I'm joining in with the hopes that it will be less irritating on this side of the fence. Plus, I really do want to get the retaining wall done and the trees planted and . . .

snow? I am SO over it. Like yesterday.

I suspected all along that my dread of winter this year was due to the fact that we never (EVER saw ground from Thanksgiving on. I was right. It warmed up last week, melted down to brown grass, and I danced in the snow Sunday evening. It was simply beautiful. I just needed a small break.

I LOVE SNOW!

*sigh*

Burning snow - after our recent snowpocalypse, I just KNOW my boys would love to invent something to burn snow. I'll put them right on it.

Maybe you should mention Team Phineas and Ferb. She'll jump sides pretty quickly.

Like the Fresh Prince song (doesn't) says, "Kid's just don't understand!"
